Thought it would be cool to check out everyone's gear.

OK! I'll pull out the old digital cam this weekend and start it off (unless someone beats me to it!)

    Cool idea!

I don't think I've ever posted my system here before...so here goes. Mind you, I'm really bad with a camera, and the camera itself is not so great, bear with me ;)

Sam, with that set up who cares how good your camera is. :D

Very nice, thanks for posting Sam. :righton:

Thanks guys! Here's one more up close of my most-absolute-favorite piece of gear, the McIntosh MC-402 (for all you blue meter fans too!)

Sam, what kind of component stand is that? The 5-shelfer, I mean.

Gary, it sounds like a dream! ;)

    Ryan,

The rack is Salamander Archetype 5.0. It's good, but it's bad. Good in that it has infinitely variable shelves, which is a great benefit to me because I change gear so often. Bad because it's a pain to get the shelves straight and level. The four posts are really just giant threaded bolts and you move the shelves up and down, tightening at will.

Sam, what exactly is that cool looking cable on the right hand side of your amp at the rear that I see in the amp picture?

    Hi Dave,

That's a StraightWire Serenade speaker cable. They are internally bi-wired, and sound nice and nuetral. Here's a pic from behind one of the B&Ws (CD there for scale).

And one more pic, this time of the Kern-modded SCD-1 (by request):

Thanks Sam...in the market for a new rack myself...I noticed yours seemed to be adjustable, given the different heights between the shelves. Thanks for the link.

And 'Elvis at Sun' is way cool, too!

C'mon guys! Don't let me and poe_man be the only ones sharing our room pics here!

Dave, you should hear this thing. Finally a digital source that makes redbook sound as smooth as the best SACDs.

    I'll get some up shortly...

Gorts, care to change this thread title to something like "Post pics of your system here!"...more people might look that way.

Look up "sckott" in Yahoo and check out the first entry. Some changes have been made, but that is basically still my two systems now.

Here's the first shot: MMF-5 on the top (sitting on Vibrapods--highly recommended), along with my iPod (vinyl and mp3 on the same shelf, heresy!). The middle rack has the NAD 521i CD player (which I see now is in dire need of a dusting). The bottom has the Onkyo TX-8211 receiver. The little thing on the bottom right you see is my Go-Vibe headphone amp that I don't use all that much.

And here is my set of AR-4x speakers. They are a nice size and really rock. The crappy old desk you see is something that just came with this place when we rented it. It's junky but instead of getting rid of it I knew I would need it for something audio-related! The speakers should probably be a little wider apart but I really don't have the room to do so.
