Norm's place is a FUN place to hang out, watch a Springsteen DVD or plain listen to great music. Excellent sound and video!

I've been there a couple of times.

    Thanks Ben
I have added a few tweeks since these photos were taken. The main ones are the Tube Buffer and MF Power Box on the Arcam CD player. Also I have moved the Totems up a couple of feet to try and give all those speakers some breathing room. It's still pretty cramped up there. I am entertaining different options about this problem. One involves ditching the Pioneer Elite 64" and hanging a plasma. A less expensive option involves moving that record rack and putting the surround rack in it's place. Those speakers look cool but they are too close to each other and that big screen

Here is a picture of my "modest system": The colorful throw is over the TV set because I put it there when listening to music to cut down on possible sound wave reflections from the Wega flat screen - the system doubles as my home theater also:

Please don't include pictures when quoting someone else's post in this thread. Do a quick edit and remove the <IMG> expressions. It's confusing.

I've found that bass is not really omnidirectional. Since it is the foundation of most pop music, IMO deep bass from a sub is best integrated when its distance from the listener is equidistant to the distance between bass panels/cones of the main speakers and the listener. Also, in my experience, sub bass is not overempahisized (and easier to optimize) when placed at the mid-point of the front wall as compared to placing it in a corner.

I'd love to post some pictures when I get the chance (I'm embarking on a business trip tomorrow). For now, you can see the list of my gear here.

Hey Dave, your speakers are up-side-down! Flip your speakers around so that the tweeters are on the top, and the woofers are on the bottom. This will improve imaging greatly, and clear up the bass range.

I've often thought of "blanketing" the TV for the same reason! :) Now I might just move my entire 2-channel system upstairs, to my swingin' loft, though..

The Cornwall's!! (Love 'em, I even built the basement to match them!)

I have Klipsh KG5.5's in the living room on the "B" set of the Dennon.

Cool! I use Aphex stuff in the recording studio all of the time! Their mic pre's are really good, and so are their "cobranet" systems!
