    Re Revisited again...

While this Dylan news sounds very exciting--if expensive to buy these albums once again--I cannot think of a less audiophile recording in his hallowed canon than The Basement Tapes, even with The Band's (RR's) redubs later...

Still, if they do Highway 61 Revisited up nicely, I'm in again... :righton:

so awesome kind of blue reissued in 45rpm vinyl. I only have a partial set of the classic records version and it is amazing sonically. If MFSL does it right and a quiet pressing, this will sell like hotcakes. The milestones mono and dylan basement tapes are pretty awesome too

Too bad I can't listen to Dylan in stereo any longer or I'd be all over these. IMO, mono mixes, especially Blonde On Blonde, blow away the stereo mixes.

MFSL doing Blood on the Tracks??? Count me in!

Just a shame there isn't a "budget" 33 1/3 Double LP version of Blonde on Blonde...99.99 is a little steep.

For the Dylan early albums, I wonder which mixes will be used - originals or remixes?

Doesn't appear that the Miles "In A Silent Way" is in 5.1, so not sure this one is all that exciting compared with the available J-SACDs?

    Rejurgitatin'....

For some reason seeing all these same titles once again, and seeing all the usual suspects/music collectors (myself included...) checking it out, it reminds me of when you see a rancher bring his pickup truck into the field and toss out feed for the cows or horses...

    Hay again !!!

Just what I need. An eighth copy of Kind of Blue. Curious as to whether they will use the stereo master on a speed-adjusted machine, or use the remix from the safety tape.

    Milestones
I am definitely interested in, as I only have a fake stereo LP of that 'un.

Next time they release these titles all over again it will be 45 rpm vinyl and that may be in six months time.

There was already a SACD of this title remember?

Yeah, are these really that exciting? Basement Tapes?

They may as well do Self Portrait just so they can say they did it first.

Miles Kind of Blue? May as well do Joni's Blue and offer a special for the two for blue set of them.

And Who's Next and Aja just because it is some anniversary thing for MFSL's golden era right?

    It is getting late huh.

Will Time Out Of Mind ever get the SACD release it deserves?

    (Yeah, that's a rhetorical question.)

I'd buy Born To Run again, MFSL SACD style.

  20. I think the SACDs for the Dylans are needed, only because the original SACDs' masterings could all be improved. They show off the format's ability to better reproduce detail and resolution of the original masters, but there were some stupid EQ moves on the original SACDs.

It would have been nice to see an artist like Leonard Cohen get the SACD treatment, but I realize there is a bigger market for the Dylans even with the existing Sony SACDs.

You're in luck here, the 1967-8 Dylan tracks on this set are MONO and the ones recorded later by the Band are stereo.

I wonder if Bob Dylan's biting harmonica and Miles Davis' edgy muted trumpet will be tamed a bit.

Anyway, I have the Dylan mono set and the Davis complete album set (with extra tracks on many albums, which these hybrids don't seem to have) and I'm happy with those. What's more, I don't have an SACD player, so I don't think I need these new hybrids.

I would say these are 2 pretty good names for catalogue reissues. I wonder what else they have in the works?
