So it appears the new Rush album has a name - Snakes and Arrows (edit: corrected message text). The first single which is supposed to hit radio either 3/13 or 3/19 is "Far Cry" (http://www.fmqb.com/Article.asp?id=16697). The album is allegedly going to hit stores on May 1.

R30 was also nominated for a Juno

Some possible summer tour dates were leaked here (note: not confirmed as real, but it looks like a plausible itinerary):

Just to get it out of the way now, let me make the inevitable comment that hopefully it'll be mastered better than Vapor Trails... :D

Maybe one day they'll remove a track, add a lot and rename it Good Boys... When They're Asleep

Sorry... The 1975 Best of album by Faces was named Snakes and Ladders, which never got a CD release in the US.

As a big Foo Fighters fan, I'm excited to see Nick Raskulinecz behind the desk. Not talking as an audiophile or about sound quality, but as a music fan. He is good at arrangements and getting a good rock and roll sound on tape. Sounds like Neil is excited too, which is no easy feat!:)

Mike Portnoy interviews Neil, along with Nick Mason, Bill Bruford, and Lars Ulrich, in January 2007's UK Rhythm drum mag.

Mike asks Neil about the song writing/demo process re: the new album. Interesting insight from Neil.

Thanks for sharing the link. I often forget he's got his own site.

Mastering and mix aside, VT is very hard to listen to for me. It is a very Pro Tools-esque production (i.e. it was pieced together). A more back to basics approach for them (a la Feedback) is a good thing.

I'll reserve judgement, but I know at least one song will make it into our live setlist for Phantom Fears.

AWESOME!!! I just finished reading Neil's latest book "Roadshow" last night. Really looking forward to this album. :goodie:

I'm not enjoying Roadshow as much as his last one so far. Neil's coming off more whiny than usual in spots.

I agree with you. I did like it though, especially the insights into their tour routines.
