Well, we've been biting our nails for a month, but the box arrived on Monday and here's Bob Gendron's review:

    http://www.tonepublications.com

Mid way down the home page.

I'm sure we'll have many conflicting opinions, but I agree with Bob on the overall, EXCELLENT sound quality. Still comparing to a few mint originals, which will be covered when our issue goes live at the end of the month.

    Let the discussion begin (again)

After Jean took the picture, we both thought the shirt was kind of ironic!

Hope you all enjoy the box sets.

Stereo Pepper has more 'impact' and 'punch' than the mono!:yikes:

What a fun read. Encouraging as well. My favorite line is the last one:

"For if the Beatles remasters signify the last great hurrah of the compact disc, at least the format is going out in style."

    yup! :righton:

there'll be some new trendy format that'll be a MUST HAVE eventually and then all these hundreds of dollars being spent on Beatles discs now will be for naught as we scurry out to get the Next Best Thing...

Yeah, I'm a sucker 'cause I'll buy 'em all again if they ever remix them into 5.1. What can I say? I don't REALLY want to save money for retirement...

Phsyical media is all but done. Obviously this is just my opinion...but I feel it to be true. That's what the trends seem to be fortelling.

In the future, we may all be scurrying for CD-Roms to rip our collections lossless, like Mad Max scurrying the country side for a gallon of gas.

  20. I wot buy until i can get them on blu ray! are you people serious ?why on earth would any one want a MONO cd of the beatles????? I bet you guys watch black and white tv on a 19' screen. Bring on the 5.1 surround sound then maybe i'll buy the beatles remasters!!!!!!

Only two things for me to make it even more perfect... gold discs and jewel boxes. Otherwise, it'll do.

I might take 09/09/09 off if finding the mono box proves difficult.

    Thanks for posting!
