As most of you know, the fine folks at ACOUSTIC SOUNDS/ANALOGUE PRODUCTIONS are also working on a bunch of 45 RPM 180 gram vinyl BLUE NOTE JAZZ reissues. These are also going to be mastered by us (Kevin Gray/Steve Hoffman) from the original Rudy Van Gelder master session tapes.

Both the MUSIC MATTERS and ANALOGUE PRODUCTIONS BLUE NOTE reissues are very exciting (to say the least). Both of these deals have been in the works for a while. This is going to be such a memorable time for both old and new jazz lovers. A good time to be alive!!

Surely a cruel joke, indeed... Right?

    Wow. I'm speechless.

How will I ever afford all these?! I don't want to miss a single one...

    This is unbelievable.

So there're two different companies relesasing what amounts to the same BN 45 series? Any differences between them?

I think I'll take this opportunity to mention that I'm available for a field trip to RTI any time any of these titles are being mastered by Steve and Kevin. :D

I am on a jazz marathon listening spree. What a time for me to get interested in this form of music.. wow.

I just explained to my girlfriend about how good these are going to be and why.She says  to having Dexter Gordon for dinner :D

This is almost spooky . Like having something resurected and brought back as it should be.

I guess I'm glad I held off on the Classic Records "Blue Trane".

Steve, can you tell us the how titles were divided up between MUSIC MATTERS and ANALOGUE PRODUCTIONS? Coin flip, thumb war, or bloody knuckles perhaps? Seriously though, if there are no duplicates, how was it decided who would release "Blue Trane" or "Midnight Blue" for instance.

still confused on how many per month...

acoustic sounds says 25 for AP and 25 for MM. MM says 4 per month. so, is it going to be roughly 6 titles per month for both sets or roughly 4 per month for both sets?

but yeah....talk about a full court press. the reissue market is now cornered.
