1. Neil Young
2. Time Fades Away Both have their own distinct sound and feel and both are in my Top 5! |

Who underrates "Zuma?" Mine is "Landing On Water." Oh, it's horrid alright but does it actually cause cancer? I have my doubts.

Indeed. And TONIGHT'S THE NIGHT is one of the most-often praised NY albums, especially by fans.
For me, BROKEN ARROW fits the bill.

I was going to say Broken Arrow also. I bought it two weeks ago for twenty cents at a garage sale..... and it has been in heavy rotation since.

I've become a Broken Arrow fan as well. But for all time underrated I vote for his first album.

Tough question, the first album is a great choice. I'll go with "On The Beach".

That would be my pick as well. I played it again recently and when you talk about underrated - this album never gets a mention, mainly because it's too 'cheerful' and therefore not typically Neil to some listeners. But it's a fine album.

And the LP sounds fantastic. Don't know about the CD, but I'm pretty happy with the LP (and the needledrop I made for the iPod).

I cast my vote for his debut album as most underrated. It has such a unique and singular feel to it that Neil has never returned to. And it has one of my favorite Young songs - the very short and powerful "I've Been Waiting For You".

I'm really not sure what Neil Young record is "underrated." But I've always enjoyed REACTOR, and I don't think it's very highly regarded in general. "Who's driving my car now!"

I'll make a stand here, I enjoy "This Note's For You," It's Young's "Love And Theft" as far as I'm concerned- a great talent stepping out of his element and just enjoying himself.
