It is time once again to hunt for LPs and CDs and a chance to say hello to forum members near the Washington DC area (Tyson's Corner Virginia, same place as before). Mark your calendar: Sunday June 5th.

I will be out of town then, so I won't be able to make it.

I should be able to make it. It is the day before the LSAT and while it's probably a good thing to go to the show to relax and de-stress, I'll have to play it by ear.

aw, man. I'm going to see Dylan and Willie Nelson that night in Raleigh. the record show is still possible. I'd have to leave D.C. by 3 or so, but it'd make for a long day.

    let me ponder a little.

Thanks for posting this! I haven't been to a record show in years... last one I went to had almost no vinyl at all and the cd selection left a lot to be desired. (However, this was after a rash of boot crack-downs...)

I'll be there to check it out.

Let us know and we'll get together. We are easy to find. We all wear black tour t-shirts that are faded and too small. Ben will have a couple copies of Who's Next in his hands.
I'll be the hung over one.
    ;)
    Hope to see you there!

Besides, what are the odds a marriage is going to last these days? Half? Less? Those rare CDs and LPs are forever, baby.

So Ben, do you think it's worth an extra $5 to get in an hour early for first crack?

I've been going to these for longer than I can remember. I've never paid the extra $5 to get there early.

If you want to avoid the smelly competition and $5 seems worth while, go ahead.

The best of both worlds happens at the very beginning and at the very end. At the very end the sellers give bigger discounts specially if they haven't had a good day. At the very beginning you not only get first pick but you also get a more peaceful search for the first hour.

Bottom line...just get there as early as you can.

Assuming I don't get stuck with a wedding myself -- 'tis the season. I'll be wearing the mini-micro Speedos. People give me elbow room around the CD racks when I'm hunched over in those.

I have something planned for Saturday, but I should be able to drive up Sunday morning for the day. Did everyone meet up for lunch last year? I was not able to go last time. I would really like to go this time.

Hey Norm, thanks for the ping. If I ever catch up to myself, I'll know where I am, and then where will we be?

It's been kinda crazy over the last few months. Not nearly enough quality Hoffman time aside from those lovely new gold discs....

I'm quite bummed I won't be able to come to the record show this time. June 5 is the start date for a summer conference I'm attending down in hot 'Lanta.

    QUITE BUMMED.

    When's the next one?

    Now, let's see.....

I've got a plane to Paris to catch at Dulles at 6:45. Maybe I can make a stop to see you all and browse the booths before that. It will all depend on how I'm getting to the airport and when I can leave Richmond. I'll have to let you all know as my plans come into focus.

Hey, Gardo, what's the conference in Atlanta?

    Now back to grading.....

Usually a bunch of us grab a bit after we are browsed out. There's a place across the street called Mr Smiths that makes a mean burger and curley fries and the beers cold.
Sorry Perfesser Gardo can't make this one. Louis: if we can help, it's our pleasure
    Cheers-
    Norm
