Oh boy! The same tired arguments over and over again. Only this time we're all older and more mature. Everyone get their ascots, smoking jackets, and fezzes out.

(yep, killed your visual picture now -- I am a party pooper). ;)

Btw, I'm not an audiophile. But I also don't like neutral. Is that relevant? (probably not, back to work for me)...

    Hmmm, wonder if that's a bootlegged Beatles album she's covering up. "A Hard...". I mean, she's half-nekkid y'all.

well, that out of my system, myself,
while i DO quite understand the merits of FLAT/NEUTRAL TONE settings,
i also well understand the merits of flavoring one's tonal balance
    to one's personal taste.

that said, for me, most audio programmes sound just right to me
    with my amp's controls at BASS+2, MID+3 and TRE-FLAT...

    Yes!

    Anyway:

Thanks for the clarification. I have not heard any quality tube stuff, and my experience has only been with the 50s stuff and cheap tube phono amps that do tend to make the music sound thick and glow-ey.
