AF Gold CD: Billy Idol "Rebel Yell" mastered today, Tues. 7/6/10

Thanks for the update, Steve. I've been waiting for this one for awhile. Was wondering if it was ever gonna happen.

Any interesting stories about getting the right tapes (like with Grand Funk) that can be shared?

One of my favorite Pop albums...... after the long delay I'm looking forward to hear the new one. The Capitol remaster inc. the compilation is unlistenable: loud, bright without the warm midrange.

Eyes of Fantasy... the best song on this album. Like the killer guitar riff in the middle.

I used to confuse "Eyes Without A Face" with "Drive" by the Cars ... until Billy's pseudo rap kicks in later on, of course.

If this one turns out like AF Heartbeat City, I'll be very happy.

Its kind of sad that this, his US breakthrough was the highlight of his career. A great album and I love Eyes Without A Face.

I wore this album out in college, and am looking forward to getting and playing this one LOUD.

Does anyone know what else Audio Fidelity is working on or will be working on soon? Their web site shows no gold CDs as "Coming Soon".

 

His career since that album has seemed to exponentially whitter away. I think thats sad. In my opinion he should be up there with U2 and Aerosmith today.

 

Oh, I see. I really liked his comback album, that one with "Rock the Cradle of Love." Great video, too.
