Sadly, the Revox A-77 died of old age and is gone, but the Sony TC-850 and the Akai 4000ds are still up to snuff.

This is probably the dumbest question I ever asked on here but here it goes...I assume people use these to play music on but did they release music on reel to reel in the past or what?

  19. Yes, they did at one time.

Where do you guys find blank tape these days? I haven't owned a R2R in years. Always loved them though.

Sure. To see some scans of some rare quadraphonic reel boxes, click HERE to go to the QQ Quad Reel Gallery. I haven't updated it in a while, my bad!

    Wanna laugh?

I'll take a pic of mine when I get my camera back in a couple of days.

BTW, I got it with a few reels of vintage blank Scotch tape. Is it worth something? I mean could I record on it?

How about a dumber question: I have no recorded music on reel to reel, so why would I want one now? (I have a chance to pick up a freebie but haven't...)
