Jethro Tull MONO This Was on CD!! April 28th?!

I just heard this!!! A deluxe 2 cd edition with the album in stereo and mono, with single mixes and unissued mono mixes (???).

Also 9 BBC tracks from July and November of 68. I don't think there's that many tracks circulating in collector's circles, maybe 4 or 5 offhand.....

At the very least, we'll get great quality on the So Much Trouble BBC.

I'm psyched!! Love this lp, especially in mono!

Great news! This is still my favorite JT album. I hope it's true.

Are the MGM singles going to be included? I actually have an Island Mono lp, so this cd will have to have a lot of other rare content for me to bite, though the BBC stuff may suffice.

Never heard it in mono, I was giving up hope finding a vinyl pressing! This is good news! (if it's true, that is)

    Universal/EMI/Island, I think
There's also a Fire and Water 2 cd set too
with a never heard before version of Alright Now.

Is this going to be part of the Deluxe Editions?

If such a release is coming,it would be through EMI,who now own the Chrysalis Records catalogue.

Nothing yet on the Tull website, but Ian has hinted at a 40th anniversary campaign, and has said that a documentary is coming.

So that means he's not remastering anymore?

I hope I read your comment correctly.

I can't find anything anywhere about this. Is there a source for this info? I'd love to see this release!

I repeat: Is it a good or a bad thing if Mew masters it?

    Upstairs, as in heaven? :sigh:

I don't particularly care for his mastering style.

well take it this way...he's not a forum favorite...

It varies for me...all in a case by case basis.

He was still mastering as of 2007. He did several "archive" projects that were released on EMI, namely the Roy Wood Boulders CD, a comp of psych rarities and I think others too. Unless there's been further news since the erroneous report of his retirement on this forum I don't think you can count him out.
