I have never "compared" them. It's like chocolate or vanilla ice cream. Exile has to be their best album, it's got everything: Blues, Rock, Gospel, Country. So looking foward to this!

Well, the Stone beat the Beatles in one way -- they stayed together after the sixties, which is an accomplishment.

    - Plunder My Soul
    - Sophia Loren

---but Jagger say in that interview that he was working in 11 songs...

So when you do you think they're planning to release this sucker? Sometime in '12, to coincide with the album's (yikes!) 40th anniversary?

Dumb question- but is Exile even in print now? Amazon's pickings are very slim.

Very strange. I checked CD Universe too. Both places do not have a new copy available of Exile. They both seem to have every other album available though.

There were some single mixes, I hope they are in there as well. I love the mono version of 'All Down The Line'

    No.

The Stones catalogue just switched from Virgin to Universal. Universal hasn't reissued exile yet, until this set is ready.

    That explains it then.

Just hope they include 'Exile on Main St Blues,' that advert for the album they recorded, just piano and Mick on vocals improvising lyrics made up from the album's song titles. Just a little ditty that definitely needs to be included.

Maybe this set will take the place of the original Exile?

At last Mick issues some unreleased tracks! About time!

I was talking to the guy who owns my local vinyl shop about this last night and he said he tried to order a new copy of Exile (not the upcoming re-issues) for someone and couldn't get one anywhere from a distributor.

Anyway, if the the Exile isn't outrageously priced I am all over it.

I spoke with Don Was a few months ago. He said that there will be 9 unreleased tracks on this set, but that Jagger recently recorded vocals for one of them just to finish it up. He didn't divulge which track this was.

I'm looking forward to this big time. I can't even pick an album from the 68-72 period that I love more than the others of the period. they were all very, very special and this will be a real treat.

Now with the Deluxe forthcoming I saw two CBS copies of Exile at Amoeba on Haight St for $19.99. You could get this for cheap a year ago.

My thoughts to Remix are OK. To doing overdubs NO. Leave it the way it was. Which I think they will for the most part.

Stones are my favorite band, Exile my favorite album. I'll be a sucker for this one, without question.

Have these songs ever been booted? I'm not familiar with them.

I don't know of them being booted.

I just hope that even the more commonly-booted material is included, too!

I really, really hope you're wrong about this. If not, I'll be passing on this one.

You'll be passing on this if Jagger recorded one new vocal? Sorry if I misunderstood your meaning there.

U2 have put new vocals on a couple of 80s outtakes in their deluxe edition reissue program, and I've actually enjoyed them. I'd rather hear a lost Stones song with a new Jagger vocal than not hear it at all, or only hear the instrumental track.

I know for sure Plunder has. Not sure about the others.
