I would LOVE the 2nd Volume of the Capitol Years Set.....the overhaul of the entire British catalog is too much to even think about......years of disappointment have made me cynical.

Yes, if that's the actual Capitol Rubber Soul master box, it is exciting to see. It's been years since I have heard the false start version of I'm Looking Through You!

"He also told me, rather casually, that EMI was working at Abbey Road on the long overdue remastering of the entire UK Beatles catalog."

If the remastering of the Beatles catalog is done at Abbey Road, then I predict that it will be a sonic disaster unless they bring in an outsider to do it. It'll be nice to have Vol. 2 of the Capitol Years, though.

This may spawn the longest Beatles thread in months. Oh boy.

If Classic were in fact to obtain the rights to the Beatles catalog in vinyl, it would spark the longest thread in the history of the forum once the records began to be released.

    Please, God, let this happen.

I'd probably buy a 200g Classic reissue of Die Beatles. :D

Under the current regime most definitely. I think the only thing to get excited about right now is the possibility of Classic Records LP's of the Beatles albums.

I passed on Vol 1. but I'd pick up Vol 2. in a minute. I grew up with the Capitol versions of those albums. I've had the Dr. E versions for years and it would be great to see how Jensen's mastering compares.

This would be great news. I've been on a "Beatles sabbatical" since the first set came out, just preparing for the next set! Bring them on! :D

Maybe I missed something in the link. Did they mention Beatles VI? Gotta have the rest of Beatles For Sale in stereo!

Yes, I'm afraid that the 1987 CD's will sound like DCC's by comparison :shh:

    Amen - bring it Capitol!

Let us hope, if Classic DOES do the entire Beatles catalog, that they are done from ANALOG masters and not digital ones!

Good news about The Capitol Box Set Volume 2!

All they say is: "Jensen had the Rubber Soul, Help! and The Early Beatles tapes in his mastering suite..."

I could definitely do without "The Early Beatles". I'd rather have "Beatles VI" and "Beatles 65".
