The main used store I frequent in Surrey always seems to have some JCM...most of my collection is from there, aside from the 1987-1993 albums that I bought new on release. Even got the S/T from about 1998 only a couple of weeks ago from there. Scarecrow 2CD is fine for 7.99, I don't object paying that kind of money. EG.
I haven't been playing this fun game either but here are my favourite albums for 1985. What a great year! Scritti Politti – Cupid & Psyche ’85 The Cure – The Head on the Door a-ha – Hunting High and Low Prince & The Revolution – Around the World In A Day Kate Bush – Hounds of Love Eurythmics – Be Yourself Tonight The Style Council – Our Favourite Shop OMD – Crush Dead Or Alive – Youthquake Tears For Fears – Songs From The Big Chair Simple Minds – Once Upon a Time Lloyd Cole & The Commotions – Easy Pieces The Kane Gang – The Bad and Lowdown World New Order – Low Life Stephen Duffy – The Ups and Downs Talking Heads – Little Creatures Pat Benatar – Seven the Hard Way Prefab Sprout – Steve McQueen Marc Almond – Stories of Johnny The Church – Heyday Arcadia – So Red The Rose Howard Jones – Dream Into Action The Smiths – Meat Is Murder The Jesus and Mary Chain – Pyschocandy Divinyls – What A Life
Have a big selection of his albums on beermat, original Atomic Mercury's after watching a American Fool era promo piece that mixed interviews with him between the videos. He just came over as authentic.
A good number of my exam certificates are stylized that way and that's how I sign documents and stuff. Perhaps it's just not your style?
If you thought that was a bit much here’s what she had to say just a few weeks ago, a full 40 years since she last troubled the charts! Arriving in London Paddington we caught the Elizabeth Line and it was bloody fabulous. Space age. We were with Robert’s manager David, who was a little concerned about how we’d deal with me being recognised and a lot of heads did turn but everyone was cool and smiled at us both. I expect the police in London were warned in advance that despite the risks Toyah was bravely travelling by public transport, and were on standby in case they were needed…
• HE TWO CLASSIC AND HIGHLY COLLECTABLE INEVITABLE SINGES PLUS RELATED PEEL SESSION RECORDINGS. • CAPTURING THE FIRST TWO YEARS OF DEAD OR ALIVE’S CAREER. • ON BERRY-RED VINYL! • A SEQUEL AND COMPANION RELEASE TO 2023’S CRITICALLY AND COMMERCIALLY SUCCESSFUL ‘LET THEM DRAG MY SOUL AWAY’. Having been ‘discovered’ working in Liverpool’s Probe Records during the punk rock explosion of the late 1970s, Pete Burns quickly found himself fronting his very own band, Nightmares In Wax, who quickly mutated into the more familiar Dead Or Alive. A star was born. But prior to pop superstardom, tabloid-tantalising celebrity and his later revival and recognition as an icon of gay punk and pop culture, Pete led Dead Or Alive into far darker waters, as one of the earliest explorers of the post-punk Goth scene. Captured on two remarkable 7” singles originally released on Liverpool label Inevitable, the band also caught the attention of the ever-reliable John Peel, and recorded material for his seminal BBC Radio One programme. ‘Running Wild’ compiles those early singles and related Peel Session highlights, bringing the latter to vinyl for the first time. Pressed on berry red vinyl, and housed in a cover photograph by Dead Or Alive’s then manager Francesco Mellina, ‘Running Wild presents an early glimpse at the phenomenon Pete would become, and a long overdue back story accompaniment for fans and collectors alike. TRACK LISTING SIDE A - The Singles 1 I’m Falling 2 Flowers 3 Number Eleven 4 Namegame (Live version) SIDE B - Peel Sessions 1 Nowhere To Nowhere 2 Running Wild 3 Number Eleven 4 Number Twelve 5 Flowers
Another Dead Or Alive comp. They sure are milking it as much as possible. Now its time for the vinyl fans.
The Sugarcubes brilliant debut 'Life's Too Good' was released 36 years ago. Bjork and the rest of the sugarcubes with one of the many highlights "Motorcrash"

I'm now totally convinced she's a bit mad... I might warn the police next time I go out to the supermarket, so they can be on standby! She's right about the Elizabeth Line though... it's amazing
SAW's very first project. Kind of naff and was mostly memorable for its Relax-pastiche cover art. But they did include it as a bonus disc in the SAW boxset. EG.
Some great choices...I'd have to include Three Degrees (Heaven I Need) and Sonia (Listen To Your Heart) though at the expense of I'd Rather Jack and Ferry Aid. EG.
I`d Rather Jack is - undoubtedly - very much a guilty pleasure, but a pleasure nevertheless. I have always love the production on Ferry Aid and I though they did a great job of pairing some artists like Kim & Nik. Their voices really gel.
For quite a long time, I could tell the difference between the intros of Deus & Birthday, or rather, I ofted mixed them up. Cold Sweat is an unexpected single that really stands out for me. That sharp guitar gives it a kind of ominous feeling.
I sorted my out by looking at the wiki article - list of SAW productions. Its interesting how Lonnie Gordon snuck in there, but her voice deserved maybe even a better song.
A complete (ish) SAW anthology project is something I still plan to do...along the same lines as my Miami Vice set. They made so many great records. EG.
The Sam Fox and Cliff songs are two of the worst Mike and Matt ever wrote imho, in complete contrast to the holy quintet of Kylie’s Rhythm of Love singles. Shout out for the amazingly comprehensive A Journey Through SAW podcast by two genius Aussie journalists, Gavin and Matthew, it's a total joy. They go through every single produced by SAW, currently they are in early 1991 after 68 episodes and have interviewed pretty much everyone involved in PWL bar Pete, Kylie and bizarrely, Sonia.
Well! I couldnt disagree more about that particular single - Nothing`s Gonna Stop Me Now. For me it works perfectly. Although I do love I Surrender from the 1987 album as well. I agree that Cliffs one is not the best but its so catchy.....I just couldnt resist it.
