New Ian Hunter record out today! I'm liking it much better than Defiance Part 1.

The opening track People was released as a "single" a few weeks ago but it's the first I'm hearing it - love it! Is that Rick Nielsen singing backup on that song?

 

Listening now, been a long day! He is amazing though a tad gruff these days!

 

The opening 1 -2 of People & Fiction is as good as anything I've heard for ages. the very idea of Ian "fronting" Cheap Trick is amazing.

Can't wait to hear the album. Should be here any day now.

 

Listening to the new album on YT this morning… having a heckuva time ordering it (Amazon Canada says May 14 or later).

I’m liking it a whole lot better than the last one… they’re just better songs. And Boschy is back! …on the Cheap Trick track.

The strings on ‘Fiction’ are a little jarring… might have been better to leave them off… but that’s a very minor quibble.

 

Yea the songs on this one stuck after one listen. I still couldn't hum a track off of part 1 and I've heard it quite a few times

 

I bought the red RSD Defiance, having 10 songs.

Now snagged the yellow RSD Defiance, having 13 songs.

Didn't know there was a difference.

 

Anyone else think that the fourth track ‘This Ain’t Rock n Roll’ is more or less the 9/11 song ‘Twisted Steel’ with new lyrics?

 

some of his rock n roll numbers tend to sound the same - I'm sure a musician can break down why

nevertheless - I like it

 

Tangent: hard to believe this vid was filmed 10 years ago (!!!) yesterday. Where does the time ago etc etc…
