Worst album covers of all time (with pictures!)

Hope I'm not breaking any rules here...

I don't know what to say about this.

 

Yeah, smoking is such a nasty habit

 

Here's my choice.

Panta Rei - S/T (1973) from Sweden. A good album by the way. Fantastic guitar work. I have the cover turned around in my jewel case 'cause I can't stand to look at it.

It really is the worst cover in this thread. How could anyone take a band seriously that had a cover like that?

 

My Mom regrets that photo. She does not condone smoking at all.

 

I'm pretty sure I just threw up in my mouth.

 

I fail to see how that could be one of the worst album covers of.... oh wait, I didn't notice that goofy-looking snake in the background. My bad.

I love the Ronnie Deauville LP, regardless of the cover. It's a great LP through and through, I think, although admittedly there's nothing overly distincive about his voice. I think his version of "I Concentrate On You" on this LP might be my favorite of all I have of the song.

 

Throw in the music and it's even harder to take them seriously.

 

...and the music's even worse...

 

If you think that's bad, you should have seen the accompanying video for the LP's first single, which featured cheap computer animation of Scott Stapp as an avenging angel or something. I felt so embarassed for the guy I couldn't even get a cheap laugh out of it.

 

This one is kind of "My First Photoshop"-looking, but it predates Photoshop. Does that make it groundbreaking? Not Lou Beach's best, that's for sure.

 

And from the "this will date well" file...I think they knew it was only going out for one pressing...

 

It's those cats that make that cover - just the right amount of cuteness.

I thought it was the next White Stripes album cover!
