I suspect post or at least in transition ... The original was released around 1968, but it says they reissued on Kama Sutra with a different cover in 1971 adding "As Long As You're Here". My LP is a Buddah label and does not have that that song.

Here's a wikipedia article on the timeline:

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zal_Yanovsky

In 1967, he left the U.S. and returned to his native Canada, due to a marijuana-related charge. In exchange for not being deported, Yanovsky gave the name of his dealer, and as a consequence was ostracised by the music community and asked to leave the United States by the Federal authorities.[2]

In Canada, he recorded a solo album Alive and Well in Argentina (and Loving Every Minute of It). Buddah Records released the album in the U.S. in 1968, along with a single that did not appear on the album, "As Long As You're Here". The single (in which the B-side was the same track without vocals and recorded backwards) just missed the Billboard Hot 100, but fared a little better in Cashbox, peaking at #73.

Kama Sutra Records reissued the album in 1971 with a completely different cover and inclusion of "As Long As You're Here". The album has hard rock and heavy metal influences, and features unusual sounds such as recordings of instruments being played in reverse.

Larz Kristerz is a band from Sweden. I have never heard them but I have heard many bands like them. In Sweden there is a whole music scene for this kind of bands. They are called dancebands since the music meant for dancing to and not really listening to. The music is very simple and the lyrics are often extremely corny (searching for love and heartache). My mother absolutely loves this kind of music. My opinion is that the music is as corny as the album covers.

If any of you know Glasgow at all, Mr Terry might well be the bravest man alive.

    From Denmark!

These are from my country, Denmark.

The fat guy is actually considered one of the best danish actores. His name was Poul Bundgaard. He could play drama, comedy, action -everything. His most famous role was one third of a comedy trio called "Olsen Banden" -the Olsen Gang, I'm sure some of you have heard about them. A link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Olsenbanden

By the way: Fancy Free is a really corny cover and I wish Poul Bundgaard had stayed to his acting and not make records...

The most amazing part is that it is "Volume 2", which means he actually made it out of Glasgow alive at least once ;)

I mean, how fast can a man run in that get-up?

I only listened to one of the tracks, but it sounds clearly like they were trying to become Sweden's answer to Boney M!

I worked at one of those places as a cook in high school, and I always thought "Special Lady At the Waffle House" was a hilarious song.

I have a WL promo and a regular version of the Carpenters 1st. Love 'em, but this cover is terrible. And what was the art dept. of Atlantic Germany thinking when they designed the cover for an Allman Brothers compilation...?
