    Born Again DE announced...from DPAS

The Black Sabbath / Ian Gillan tie-up album Born Again gets the Universal deluxe reissue treatment shortly, with a release date set for 30 May. Sadly they have been unable to find the master tapes, so a remix is not possible. Instead the album will be remastered, and they are at last adding the vintage 1983 Reading Festival performance recording done for Radio 1 (the line up’s only UK show) as the bonus disc, along with studio out-take "The Fallen", and an extended version of the "Stonehange" instrumental.

 Looking into my crystal ball, I see someone locating the BA master tapes in the not too distant future....thus, selling us the album once again. ;):D

Yeah, they'll call it Born Again, Again :D

I actually really like the album, but think without a remix it will still sound like what comes out of my dog's hindquarters :thumbsdn:

I agree. I thought it was already decided that a remix was going to be on the DE? That would be my only reason for buying it. I love the album as well but I've bought it a few times over the years already. I'm surprised to hear that the master tapes are lost. Didn't the 1996 remasters have stickers on them boasting "remastered from the original master tapes"?

 Yeah, I guess you would prefer a supergroup of very current and hot musicians from Kings of Leon, Limp Bisquit and Nickelback.

As I mentioned in my 1st post I interviewed both Tony Iommi and Ian Gillan a few weeks back. Today I received some pictures. Though it would be nice to share. The article is for the Dutch rock/metal magazine Aardschok, it will be in Dutch, sorry...

Indeed, and it was when I received those pics that I noticed how cool Iommi's shirt is...

Robert, that's excellent! I must admit, I'd be terrified to sit between two people I've admired all my life. But I've heard that Tony Iommi and Ian Gillan are both pretty cool with fans. Way to go!

Thanks. They are very cool people indeeed, although quite different. Gillan likes to talk, Iommi is more quiet. I have to say again, they could not be friendlier...

I'm guessing this Man In Black is a lot easier to get on with, for Mr Gillan. Which is kind of ironic as Sabbath have that whole image, but Tony just seems like a nice guy.

I'm listening to the single for the third time in a row... love it!

Holy Water sounds like recent Ian Gillan with Iommi guesting, and I mean that in the best possible way...
