The SACD is hard to beat... I wish AF could do Rocks.

    Other "Hard" recommendations:
Rage Against The Machine - ST
    Thin Lizzy - Jailbreak
    Joe Satriani - The Extremist
    Judas Priest - Stained Class

I've never heard a good-sounding CD of Draw The Line.

Which ones are easier to license the Columbia titles or the Geffen ones? I think that has a lot to do with what is being offered. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe that the tendency at the moment is leaning towards the release of many Warner titles. This is not a complaint on my part but merely an observation. Maybe they (AF) have secured a solid agreement with Warner concerning licensing of older material.

Columbia releases have appeared to look "challenging", but I think lots of us are hoping that Steve's work on Judas Priest's Hell Bent For Leather signifies a turning of the tide.

Indeed. Let's ask Santa to be extra generous this year with the folks at Columbia. :D

Nothing of interest to me in the immediate future...but would love to see that Vince Guaraldi Greatest Hits gold disc make an appearance.

There was a MOFI version of this title. There was something about the sound I didn't like and sold it. Seemed like the CBS version was more solid. So it will be interesting to hear what AF does with it. It's a classic and deserves to be revisited for sure.

I sent an email to AF complimenting them on the awesome Herbie Mann vinyl release and added that more live Jazz would be welcomed by me.

The response I received from them was that they were going to "move away from the live jazz and do more studio jazz and pop albums."

This would be even more welcomed by me. I hope it comes to be.

"Rocks" is the one to do.

"Rocks" would definitely be my first choice for Aerosmith on Audio Fidelity but the 1st four albums would especially be nice.

I'm sure the licensing would not be be very easy to obtain however.

    Is that even a question?

Sometimes I have the feeling that AF's catalogue is re-releasing the record collection Marshall Blonstein had as a teenager and college student.

If I owned a little label with a cult following I'd probably do the same thing.

Ditto. Not intended as a threadcrap as I'm happy for the folks who are interested in those titles. I ordered AC's LITD yesterday and I think that will probably be it for awhile, barring any great deals.

I sold the original Columbia CD after picking the MoFi of TDoDS. I think it's one of the "must have" MoFi silvers, so I have no idea of what the "something" was that you found wrong about it. I'd have no interest in an AF pressing.

Would love to see the 70s Aerosmith catalog get the AF treatment

 Are you telling me the ONLY well mastered cds are from AF?

I suppose you think the new Rod Stewart cds are terribly mastered?

I suppose you think Paul Weller,Van Morrison,The Stooges are all terribly mastered? I bet your one of those people who think EVERY cd remastered by a label other than DCC,Mofi,or AF in the last ten years sounds terrible.I don't know I purchased the Audio Fidelity version of the Pretenders and was quite dissapointed-some of my SHM cds don't sound that much better then their normal cd counterparts but some like The Jam,T-Rex do sound much better.Don't believe me?-read the threads on this forum.

I have never heard a good sounding version of Draw the Line (LP, CD anything). I think it is a poor recording compared to Toys and Rocks, would remastering again help it?

I don't think remastering will help it either I think it was poorly recorded and produced

Draw the Line was meant to sound the way it does, nasty and ratty.
