Geshelli Labs J2 w/Sparkos op amps. Both my Wiim Pro Plus and the J2 use the AKM 4493. The J2 is a substantial upgrade. Now I’ve heard for myself how important the implementation of the DAC chip is. Also compared my $250 Audioquest coax to my $16 Worlds Best Cable coax. The $16 cable seems to do the job just fine. Party on Wayne.
I got a new tv and theater processor and racks etc. for an overhaul to my theater setup Excited for install!
Sennheiser HD 599. I wanted these as an alternative to my Audio-Technica ATH-R70x headphones. So far I'm pleased with the different presentation.
Got a WiiM Mini. Only issue was finding a DLNA server that it liked enough to display album art. Otherwise it's superb, really slick. I disabled the lights and touch function and taped it to the side of my amp, nicely out of sight. I'm also powering it from my amp's USB and going straight into the optical input. Turns out the DAC in the Yamaha A-S301 is extremely good, very surprising. All hail WiiM.
My amazing wife is ordering these Custom Design stands for my Harbys as i type...6 weeks delivery...i guess i will just have to tough it out.
Yesterday I received my eBay purchase of a used Sony BDP-S590 Blu-ray player (2012 model) for $30. I bought it to replace the same model I owned for three or four years, because the internal wifi receiver died. Why would I buy a used lightweight mass market disc player when I own a OPPO UDP-205? To rip SACD discs to dsf files, that's why.
Now you will be the only one on your block (or in the state?) with an all Luxman stereo rig. I had a sneaky feeling that tt deal would be too much for you to resist...
A cool $50K plus -- rediculous but OMG; it's like it combined every other upgrade I made in the past into one. Can't wait for the Wilson Alexia V to arrive and wire them to these puppies (May 10th??).
Well, yesterday, my wonderful wife Lisa gave me a Shohei Ohtani jersey, not long before we left to go down to D.C. to see the Dodgers face the Nationals. Shohei went hitless, which was disappointing, but the Dodgers completed the sweep. EDIT: Oh yeah...today, this arrived:
Cool, that looks like the original, couple 709C opamps biased to run class A with passive RIAA in between. I think they sold a bunch of them, they were pretty cheap. I had the later version II at one point, they got some design help and went all discrete but kept the passive EQ, sounded really good compared to the not very good sounding one in my Kenwood receiver
