The audiophiles were nestled all snug in their beds,
While visions of mastering waves danced in their heads.
And mamma in her ‘kerchief, and I in my cap,
Had just settled our brains waiting for a Beatles doc to wrap.

I was lucky enough to score a Sansui 8080db for 261$ shipped using money from my job at a record store, working there again during my winter break (I'm in college) to buy some nice Jensen speakers. I'll let santa off light this year for that, and also the 7$ I just paid for a WLP of My Aim Is True =)

    Perhaps this would work:

"Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the house
The whole place was moving to Nat Cole and Strauss
The pressings were mastered by Steve Hoffman with care,
In hopes that the Breath of Life soon would be there."

It sounds better to me. But definitely say Nat "King" Cole.

And the last line...would soon be there rolls off the tongue better.

    Excellent!

When out of the speakers arose such a clatter,

I sprang from the listening chair to see what was the matter.

Away to the preamp I ran like a race

Increased the volume and turned up the bass.

The Benz in the groove of the newly pressed vinyl

Gave the lustre of midrange both neutral and final

When, what to my wondering ears to admire

Two mono block amps, each with tube rectifier

And a little old C22, so shiny and posh.

I knew in a moment it must be St. McIntosh.

Most accurate and tuneful his components they came,

    And he whistled, and shouted, and called them by name;

"Now, Dynaudio! now, Dynaco! now, Paradigm and Luxman!

On, Conrad! on Johnson! on, Denon and Bryston!"

Well, I really have a system that I love. . . and I know that Santa WON'T bring me any audio toys, he never does.

If he could or would, I'd ask for another Decware power cord, and another pair of Decware interconnects so that I could add my Decware ZBox into the main system, just to see how it would sound (this device really improves lower quality sources, and with higher quality sources it sometimes is a nice improvement, sometimes is not a change at all worth noticing). I know that I can only really tell how well it fits if I have really good power cords and interconnects (I really find those make a difference, and the Decware ones are among the finest that I know of that aren't really really expensie).

If I get a job I'm working on (have had testing and one interview so far, have final interviews tomorrow) I'll probably splurge and become my own Santa and get these.

I'm getting something I NEVER would have asked for, but my father has one and he insists he get one for me, too: The latest version of ZUNE.

This is akin to a vinyl-only-guy in 1982 finally breaking down and putting a cassette deck in his car... but for CONVENIENCE ONLY!

My albums and CD's will still get 95% of the play in my house, but it will be nice to put 15,000 songs on the Zune, connect the unit to my Sansui rig and hit shuffle. Much easier than either vinyl or CD when I throw a party.

I have not decided if I've been naughty or nice. :shh:

Honestly I don't know...seriously considering a camera this year. I'd like a Sony 5400 but may not be able to afford one this year.

My Sony SCD-XA5400ES was one of the audio purchases I've been most pleased with. I went through a series of digital front ends and when I got this one I just. . . relaxed into the music. Redbook is amazing on this player.

Nothing, although Santa wanted to get me something. I concluded I need nothing and already have too much - I'm satisfied with what I have.

Same here. I still have presents from the last few years that I've not played with yet. I'll simply regift them to myself this year. :D

I feel a bit like a squirel who has saved his nuts for the winter though I've been saving mine for a few winters.
