As a collector quite a few :sigh: :)

One comes to mind Jennifer Warnes "FBR" probably about 13 variations on CD

Jean Michel-Jarre "Concerts in China" about 8 versions, similarly with Pink Floyd WYWH

For me, it's probably AC/DC's Highway To Hell.

I literally wore the grooves out of at least three vinyl copies of that album with my old crappy teenage record player back in the day. Since then, I've bought it at least three more times on vinyl - (4) the US Atlantic pressing, (5) Australian Albert pressing and (6) Sony remastered version.

I've probably also gotten (almost) every version that's been released on CD, too...
    (7) Original 80's US Atlantic pressing - one of the first CD's I bought.
    (8) Remastered 90's Atlantic pressing
    (9) Australian Albert pressing
    (10) Sony remastered pressing

I think I also owned a copy on Cassette (11) and 8-Track (12), as well.

A couple cassette copies, Quad 8 Track, US original, '97 remaster and SACD, a few vinyl copies (1967 mix) until I settled on a very nice sounding US Gilbert Kong pressing.

Besides various Beatles stuff.....Bang-James Gang. I must have gone through or lost 3 copies of it in High School...once in college. I bought it on CD when I came out, and I've been able to keep it.

James Taylor-One Man Dog- 3 8 tracks, UK pressing, 2 regular pressings, Quad version.

Joni Mitchell-The Hissing of Summer Lawns- Warner/Pioneer pressing, Cutout pressing, one '80s reissue pressing, the original CD, Canadian 8 track, cassette, late '80s.

  14. I guess mine is 'Sgt Pepper', even though it is far from my favourite album.

    US yellow-green label Capitol
    US Apple stereo
    US orange-label stereo Capitol
UK 1978 stereo (2 of them)
UK 1982 mono <-- the go-to mono copy
Ger Apple stereo (1971-2?) <-- the go-to stereo copy
    Jpn Ap-Series stereo (black vinyl)
    1987 stereo cd
    2009 stereo cd
    2009 mono cd

Do these next ones count? I think they should.

I also have the leaked 4-tracks of several tracks
from this that float around the internet.

And . . . of course those outtakes/alt mixes from the Anthology, in stereo and 5.1.

Also, several tracks remixed for stereo and 5.1 from the Yellow Submarine dvd & Songtrack cd.

I'd like to say it's a classic rock disc of some kind (DSOTM or LZ IV), but Joe Satriani's Surfing With The Alien comes to mind first. I've bought nearly every release beginning with the cassette (I was only 14 and didn't yet have a CD player of my own) for about $10 at a Kmart back in 1990 up through the 20th Anniversary CD/DVD set in 2007. I've heard the MFSL but have yet to own a copy. The asking price is much too rich for my blood.

    Oh yeah...

James Taylor-Sweet Baby James- Ampex 8 track, 73-74 Warners 8 track, Early 90's cassette. Lowercase W vinyl, 3 Regular WB Green vinyl, WB mid-to late '80s vinyl.

What I thought was odd is up until a few years ago, or maybe even now, the Ampex 8 track had the clearest artwork. I've seen some covers that look just awful.

    The first Suicidal Tendencies album.

-My first copy was the BMG reissue cassette, bought in 1991.

-My second copy was an old-ish cassette that I found in a bargain bin around 1992/93-ish. I just bought it because it reminded me of the version that my brother borrowed from a friend. I think I gave my other copy to my brother.

-I bought it on CD in 1997.

-Bought it on vinyl at a Hot Topic in 2008.

I don't think I own more than two copies of any other album, but I'm tempted to get a vinyl of ABC's "The Lexicon Of Love", along with possibly an older CD. I currently own the '98 remaster and the "Deluxicon" edition.
