Warner Japan Rock SACD titles set for August

Obviously I did. As I said, I like it very much. However, it is not universally praised here.

 

Years ago, I compared the DCC gold disc and DVD-Audio disc of Hotel California and preferred the DVD-Audio disc. The post it here somewhere.

 

All these SACDs are copies from DVD-A masterings, aren't they?

Don't get me wrong, it is great that they're available.

 

Yes, we know. That's why I said "most" and "rarely" as opposed to "all" and "never"...

 

There was a fair amount of criticism for the DVD-Audio disc with simultaneous praise for the DCC gold CD years ago. I figured other folks had done a direct comparison, but maybe not.

 

The DVD-A is compressed compared to the DCC Gold CD. The multichannel mix is great though.

 

The Hotel California sa-cd sounds fantastic (best version I've ever had) at least to me anyway.
