I don't think there's a record in the set that's my favorite version of that particular LP.

There is (or was at one time, I guess) a team of lawyers that sought out stuff like that. Stan was always very careful about what he said for print. Don't know if it matters anymore.

I think the cd actually sounds decent, but would love to see an audiophile release.
Perhaps the chances of seeing this are slightly better since Steve mastered the 'Stadium Arcadium' vinyl.

It's a shame an album as great as U2's 'Achtung Baby' is lacking so much sonically. I'm strictly going by the U.S. release of the cd.
I don't know what non U.S. pressings sound like.

The first album by Velvet Revolver has lots of good songs on it, but sounds very bad. Same goes for "The Devil You Know" by Heaven and Hell. I would buy "The Getaway" by The Red Hot Chili Peppers and some of the later albums by Deep Purple within a heartbeat if there was a better sounding version.

About 500 albums in the first round - and that's just in my collection.

I'd love to have Turbulent Indigo, no matter who would release it.

David Bowie's Station to Station as well as Lodger are in dire need of sonic refreshment. Kate Bush's The Dreaming, too!

Weird, just this morning I dug this thread up in a forum search for Chris Montez. The "Easy Listening" discussion from last week rekindled my love for his stuff. I was able to download good sounding versions of three of his A&M albums, but the Time After Time digital files on the usual sites have irritating distortion on them (and I'm no audiophile). The same tracks on the digital version of his Call Me - Best of the A&M Years sound fine. So I surfed around and found one copy of the Japanese SHM reissue of Time After Time available and ordered it. Hopefully it sounds better than what's available online.

I guess Chris Montez is a long shot for getting audiophile reissues (or even plain ol' reissues) here in the States. Somehow I missed the Japanese releases -- looks like they're from 2012 and 2014. Glad to at least be able to snag Time After Time in a physical format.

PS Sorry for mentioning downloading on an audiophile thread! :hide:

Seconded, My A&M LP discs (originals) do sound great. And cost me little.

The whole Bowie catalog, but I hear tapes aren't in amazing condition.

    Beatles stereo catalog.

Pink Floyd (even though BG cut the recent reissues, I want something AAA)

Led Zeppelin (I want Chad Kassem to press new copies using the Classic metal parts as the Classics are getting really expensive.
