I would be curious to see how much of a role Mick Talbot played in The Bureau. Especially live.

  2. Andy Smith

Andy Smith .....Like a good pinch of snuff......

Perfect fit from what I recall.

Did anyone go for the Ultravox Quartet SDE? I’m tempted to try the 2CD issue with just the Wilson remix and the instrumental version. I’ll have to try the remix on YouTube first.

Its interesting how this single just completely passed me by.
So unlike the UK sounds of 1982 and the stuff I was into at the time - just beginning to explore the world of music.

    N0, I didn’t get it.

I always saw Foreigner as more of a US thing. Even though they had hits here, and did better than, say, Journey.

First things I notice - The unusually high chart position of a single like You Take Me Up (over-rated IMHO) and the same goes for A Love Worth Waiting For (justified IMHO)
I dont even recall In The Heart by Kool & The Gang and I thought I knew all there mid 80s hits.

The Caterpillar also got very high for such a discordant and disjointed song.

I didn’t like his remix of Vienna, and Rage in Eden was a non-starter because of the missing tracks, but I hear good things about Quartet.

    Certainly seems like it.

Waiting For A Girl Like You - in retrospect (I didnt notice it at the time) - worth beautifully for both markets and obviously does I Want Know What Love Is,
but Say You Will is much more US than UK orientated......and especially Urgent.

    Got it.
Still in shrink though and havent even listened to the mp3 version yet.

I would definitely get the instrumental version though. That has real value.

Just listening to My Nation Underground for the very first time.
A solid album with outstanding singles, especially China Doll - which is high greatest ever solo achievement.

Still - I guess the feeling that he is one of those artists who leaves the most interesting / quirky / creative things for his b-sides. I might be wrong though.

    Such a majestic song.
Everything about it is just perfect.

The last public appearance by the one & only Pete De Freitas ?

Kate St. John guest appearance on two tracks from St.Julian.

That means that many prominent names really noticed here after the Dream Academy debut.
Too bad it wasnt going to last.

Junior Walker's sax solo on it is terrific.

Count me as one who followed Foreigner back then.

I did buy it, yes, but only played the Hi-Res album. I always enjoy the extra stuff on these Uvox sets, so I need to dig it out again. I put all my best boxsets away so they wouldn't get spoiled by various workmen being around in the house this year.

Honestly i have not had too much time lately to play a lot of music, but i did play it when it came out and if memory serves me right I preferred the original mixes which were also on the same disk.
It’s pretty hard to improve on the original mix IMO

I never understood why they mimed that performance. And it's so painfully obvious.

We know that's Kim Wilde at frame right, but who's the bespectacled lass between her and Ms. Springfield?

What would their in-house chart position for, say, "God Save The Queen" have been? (This, six years after Music Now, ex Top Pops, whose chart was comprised entirely of sales from Smiths' stores, bit the dust.)
