    Strange, but cool.

As I've said a few times "rock n roll" refers to the Cleveland HOF and not the specific genre (which in the UK implies Little Richard, Jerry Lee Lewis, et al). This HOF is about music- pop, rock, jazz, folk, electronic, etc. etc. I personally love folk and see it as parallel to the rock stuff in the 60s.

Maybe some of these didn't have hits outside the 60s, but does that make a difference?

I really hope The Small Faces make 40%.

Spencer Davis Group hanging in at exactly 40%.

Unlike year three, this one is a little bit of a nail-biter.

Zoot Money's Big Time Operator is a classic for me.

Bert Jansch always reminds me of his instrumental album with John Renbourn - Transatlantic TRA 144 Bert & John, short but superb.

Long Tall Shorty by Graham Bond is another gem.

Some interesting acts. I wish I'd noticed John Mayall before I voted. His The Blues Alone on Ace of Clubs is a magnificent album.

Zoot finally gets a vote! Good on ya.

And John Mayall...not doing as well as I expected.

Donovan, Small Faces, the Who, um, the Spencer Davis Group I suppose, and the Pretty Things, though that's a forlorn hope by this point. The Action and Vashti Bunyan are favourites of mine but I can't really justify voting for them.

Donovan, Herman's Hermits, Manfred Mann, Moody Blues, Who. Tom Jones was odd man out. Marianne Faithfull was odd woman out.

I'm mostly going with popularity; I love Concrete and Clay for example but I don't think the band was hall of fame material (and I do like their recording; I fished the LP out of a delete bin way back when and I have the CD of same); others may disagree.

Some performers such as Graham Bond, John Mayall, Bert Jansch, Alexis Koerner, should get honorary nominations just for being hugely influential even if they didn't achieve massive popularity abroad or sell many records compared to the big pop stars.

Love it! Another early gem is Graham Bond backing Duffy Power on a cover of 'I Saw Her Standing There'.

The 'Sound Of '65' is a fabulous album...sort of like a darker Manfred Mann, which is no bad thing.

'Lease On Love' is an interesting single as it features a mellotron, quite ground breaking for '65. For my money Bond does the best version of 'St. James Infimary' as well.

Agreed. soon enough I'll do an AUXILIARY round for special artists, etc. - maybe a round just for blues & folk pioneers, one for managers, producers, etc.

I really thought John Mayall would be in this year.

I'm surprised there weren't more votes. Didn't AF release a John Mayall Bluesbreakers CD fairly recently?

The dog this year is The Watersons. Maybe all the potential votes went to Martin Carthy. I love those guys!

    Nice idea.

Then I can vote for Jansch, Carthy, Briggs, etc. again!

I have to agree with that opinion. I mean we are talking about the THE WHO.

I didn't vote for 'em. I figured they'd get in without my help. I voted for all the little people....

I didn't vote for them either, partly because I figured they'd be in either way. I also have mixed feelings about them. No such mixed feelings about The Kinks or Pretty Things...

Sure would like to see Spencer Davis Group gain the needed 3%.

Yeah, anyone who wants to see them in should vote. I don't imagine Traffic will have any trouble, though.
