john lennonist There ONCE was a NOTE, PURE and EASY...

In my (wet) dreams a version re-mastered and re-mixed by Steve Hoffman or Steven Wilson with some low end in it for a change... preferably with "Teacher" on it instead of "Alive and..."

Joe Boyd once said that the only perfect album he ever worked on was Nick Drake's Bryter Layter.

    Awesome contribution.

I like the mentions of Television's Marquee Moon and the Beach Boys, although I would list Friends instead of 20/20.

For me, some perfect albums are:

Meat Puppets – Meat Puppets II
    Go-Betweens – 16 Lovers Lane
    Wild Nothing – Gemini
Cats on Fire – The Province Complains
    The Bats – Daddy's Highway

American Beauty for me is perfection from start to finish. I would also add
    Love: Forever Changes.

Allman Brothers "Live at the Fillmore East' For me, every cut smokes, I could pick a tune at random and it'll be great or I could listen to the whole thing and it's great.

    Weather Report 'Sweetnighter'
Last Exit 'Headfirst Into the Flames'

    Beach Boys - Pet Sounds
    My Bloody Valentine - Loveless
    Pink Floyd - Animals
Elvis Costello - Get Happy!! & Imperial Bedroom
    Screaming Trees - Uncle Anesthesia
    Trash Can Sinatras - Cake
The Wedding Present - Sea Monsters
Stone Roses – Stone Roses (the version with Elephant Stone, but without Fool's Gold)
    Destroyer - Kaputt
    Animal Collective - Feels
    Van Morrison - Astral Weeks
Led Zep - I, II, III, & IV

    Almost:
Boston (Smokin' and Rock N Roll band are fun, but bring the proceedings down to earth, which is unfortunate)
Disintegration (Lullaby is great, but doesn't fit, and Lovesong is a bore)
Abbey Road (again... Come Together is cool but doesn't work here)
Quadrophenia (not really anything wrong... just needs some of the various instrumental overtures and reprises trimmed)
The Smiths (I have always hated Hand in Glove for some reason)
Exile on Main St (see the poll on this forum for some of the songs that could have been trimmed. I mean, Shake Your Hips is USDA grade-A filler, but compared to All Down the Line or Torn & Frayed it's definitely filler)

Two came to mind when I saw the title of the thread: WISH YOU WERE HERE by Pink Floyd, and CHINESE BOXES by Kim Richey.

Yeah, I haven't seen those two albums mentioned together, and only those two, in the same thread before, either.

Their may not be a perfect album but there's a perfect album side-Side 1 of "Meet The Beatles".

In the "all killer no filler" category I would place:

    Love - Forever Changes
Moody Blues - A Question of Balance
    Genesis - Foxtrot
Bruce Springsteen - Born To Run
Hambi and the Dance - Heartache
Stone Roses - Stone Roses (I'm not actually that fussy about I Am The Resurrection, but everyone else seems to think it's killer)
    Belinda Carlisle - Runaway Horses
    Pulp - Different Class
Mark Burgess and the Sons of God - Zima Junction

    ... among others.

    Pink Floyd's The Wall

I could list quite a few other albums, but The Wall is the only double album to date that I've been able to listen to all the way through in one sitting, or perhaps several times in one sitting :righton:
