Nice alt. Tear Drop with Peter, steve. great job. I would imagine Peter would look that way (looks like it could be around the time of Head based on the haircuts).

 

Incidentally, if you look closely at the bottom margin of the original artwork, there's pencil notation, beginning with something crossed out, then 3 figures (black line and then an editorial |<-- to remove the Peter portion of the image

Steve, if it isn't asking too much, PLEASE tell me how you did that.

Did you redraw Peter? Did another version of the illustration exist? What about the "second Peter Tork" theory (there are many "clues" regarding his 1966 "death" following an accident at a taffy factory, at which point he was replaced by a man identified as "Stephen Stills" who wore a wig and false teeth)? C'mon, let us in!

I totally agree- talk about revisionist's history, you guys have totally reinvented the last 2 years of 60's Monkees history! Here's what I think the Monkees (especially Mike) would have liked for the cover of the 3rd album: Kirschner's head on a platter in the middle of the hands intertwined on the HQ cover. Anyone want to try that one?
