12 days ago i went to a sidewalk sale & got about 40 cds at 25 cents each-they were in little plastic envelopes,as the cases/booklets were ruined in last may's flood.several titles each by John Hiatt,The Beach Boys,Magnapop,Yusef Lateef.

    Agree, totally.

I prefer the LP mix for everything except "Moggio", but even on CD, the album is very underrated.

There's an old axiom that states that any compilation, from any artist, that calls itself "The Definitive Collection" is anything but.

Is that the case with that one?

  22. I love the remaster for "Astral Weeks"--in fact all three. Too bad that Rhino doesn't see a market to reissue these even as a Rhino Handmade for the U.S. audience. Weren't these pulled from the remasters for vinyl that Steve and Kevin did?

    - all picked up (along with 3 or 4 other cd titles) last Saturday during my Record Store Day shopping spree at Princeton Record Exchange. Did not have any of them on my "must-buy" list, but as i was browsing the racks at PREX, these caught my interest.

I usually have to buy online now, in days of yore I would visit record stores every Saturday, and would see all of the new titles all mixed in - a great way to be exposed to something you may not have known existed, and might just enjoy. So all of my cd purchases last Saturday were somewhat unknown / unheard selections that I might not have picked up, most of which I am enjoying quite a bit.

What I miss the most about the lack of B&M stores is browsing the new releases. PREX is an hour drive from my town, so I can't go as often as I would like. The few stores in my immediate area are worthless - over-priced, poor selections, uninformed staff.
