Excellent release, really looking forward to this. That's a really fascinating set list, lots of songs that they rarely played live. Here's hoping the sound quality is good!
I know...it's impossible to please everyone...but we've known this for years...I was expecting something completely unknown...in this case, I'd rather take the Seattle 70...but of course I'll buy it! !!! ...and I apologize.
I know what you are saying but I do think it’s worth them ‘mopping up’ the decent shows we have known for years first ideally in an upgraded package before moving on. Definitive versions of these much loved boots is a worthwhile endeavour. Having said that this needs to be done in a timely fashion before moving on to hopefully some more exciting, uncirculated releases in the future.
I compared it with my grey area set of the shows.....this one includes a previously unheard performance of The End.
After the possible fantastic release Live at Stockholm, what more can we expect from primary wave? over the years, there has been talk of various tapes in the hands of private collectors: Phoenix 66 (I remember reading it some years ago) Avalon Ballroom 67 Seattle 67, 2 dates in july (same as Phoenix, I remember reading it some years ago) Stony Brook september 67 Seattle, november 67 (4 track?) Fillmore 67-68 recordings Seattle Pop Festival 27-7-69 Honolulu 70 (stage recording) Dallas 70 (DAT tape?) New Orleans 70
Actually Honolulu (Botnick tape, audience or stage recording? and Dallas are in Doors possesion (or at some point they were)
According to MildEquator, the Honolulu master tape is lost. Don't know about the others. I have never heard about tapes from the many Seattle shows you list above, Phoenix 66 or Stony Brooks, but would be interested in doing so. We now the Seattle tape from 1970 will be released sooner than later, as they mistakenly included Someday Soon in the Bakersfield setlist and press release last year.
Some help , I listened to a show the other day on YouTube where Jim breaks into a spiritual tune the Doors play the whole song then go into LMF I think. What show was it ? Can't remember. Anyway , I never heard em do anything like that before and enjoyed it.
PW bought actual catalogue, not future catalogue. So, if it is in the vaults is likely someday will see the light, but if don't is in hands os JAM, so it won't
Thanks, that's the song not sure about the show. Was that the only time they did something like that ? I'm not as versed with audience shows as a lot of folks but I'm working on it.
