Very cool. My wine guy at Kermit Lynch was Jim's guy back in the day so Michael has spent time at his places in Montana and Arizona. He is a fly fisherman as well as having a great palate. Kermit featured Jim's writing in many of his monthly newletters and sold some of his books at the store as well. Michael, Jim and I share a devotion to Domaine Tempier one of the greatest wines/domaines of the world, imho of course.

There are no 'treasurerd audiophile CD releases' of this album that I know of? Which one do you mean?

I meant that the standard CD that you can buy now is great. The sound quality is audiophile quality.

Wanted to follow up with this thread. I was feeling nostalgic for this record this week and read through (most of) this thread. Where did this all land? I see that the Euro pressing (assuming this is the Back to Black) is about $25 on eBay but Amazon has the US 2016 pressing for a hair over $19. I noted previously that Amazon had halted sales. Are there any Laughing Stock gurus out there that can give me some guidance? I'd like to pick up this one on LP.

The truth is the album will never sound better than on the original CD. Buy the new vinyl if you want surface noise and defects on a very quiet, delicate album. I decided to pass.

I haven't heard the EU or 2016 US pressings. The second Bada Bing press, cut by Kevin Gray, is very good, though if you happen to find new old stock in a store, there's no way to tell it from the 2016 pressing.

Thank you, gents. I have the CD but was feeling like I need the LP. Perhaps not.

I like it! Has a jazzy, late-Bowie feel.

I'm hearing Robert Wyatt in the vocals. I'll have to pick this one up soon.

It's definitely an album for fans of British rock/prog/folk eccentrics.
