Steely Dan AJA - original U.S. vinyl pressings

    Yeah ... it's not so much that "DB" sounds bad on the original cut, it just doesn't sound quite as good as the rest of the LP. Really happy to have run across one of these puppies.

    I have the RCA Record Club Version.
    AB - 1006 on the label
    R - 123475 A-3 matrix side one
    R - 123475 B-1 matrix side two
    Sounds great to me.

    The strangest thing is the first two sound extremely clear, where every song after was cut back a bit.

    Agreed. Deacon Blues onward sound muddier that Black Cow and Aja.

    Everytime I find an AB 1006 in the cheap bins I buy that sucker. I've given several away over the years, and I love to see their eyes open wide when they hear it. The best pressing I've ever heard of Aja.

    This thread made me go look and see what I have.

    This is what I have and I agree it sounds pretty good.

    However, on the album jacket spine and rear it says AA-1006.

    Is this what yours say kickituppanacho???
