Sony Legacy Pop Market (part2)

This Pop Market experience has been a nightmare...ordered the Complete Jack Johnson sessions the day of the announcement, yet it says it was "backordered"....3 weeks later and no discs. Finally I e-mailed and asked for a refund (oh by the way, they charge your account right away, not when it ships).

Anyone have a phone number for this place? They are harder to reach than Columbia House back in the 90s.

Yes I agree. I had the same reservations until after hutlock and the others enlightened me I realised it's just the way they work. They just seem to take some time and then suddenly wham-bam it's been shipped and seems to arrive pretty soon after. In fact I got a badly damaged set of the Hendrix Vinyls, I wrote to tell them how disappointed I was via the websites email link, they replied within 24 hours - and then to my amazement sent me another set free of charge - which quickly arrived (here to Australia!) in a couple of days without any damage at all. So I'll give them a thumbs up for customer services actually.

I'd kind of like this, if they're properly mastered.

But $180 isn't cheap enough for...for me...

 

How much is it normally?

EDIT: just looked it up -- list price is $289. Seems like a pretty good (not great) deal to me, but still not cheap. That's around $7.50 per disc...

POPMARKET was selling it for $229, previously. The $289 is the list price. (if the price gets closer to $100, I'll buy) Or wait another 5 years and get it for about $50.

 

For something around $125 I would have been a taker.

Good question. I can't seem to find any information on who mastered it. My guess would be Vic Anesini?

 

Or, split the box into a first and second half. I'd enjoy the first twelve albums, and simply have no interest in the latter twelve.

 

I would have to imagine that most of the masterings are from the reissues done a few years ago. Some of them included bonus tracks and sounded better than the original CDs.

 

I just got my Johnny Cash Show DVD. How good is this? Only half way through the 4 hours but it really was a treat so far. Neil Young is a mischievous looking imp, and Dylan looks like a schoolboy....but it is 40 years old. Amazing that it still survived.

 

That deluxe release really is cool to watch.
