Michael Torke, 20th century post-minimalist composer wrote an entire piece called "Color Music". The interesting thing is, Torke is a synesthete*, he can see music as color. So, these pieces are his impressions of how each causes him to see the music. I have the Kinks cd comp (can't recall the name, grey cover, "Ultimate Collection or something like that), so I never heard this song.
