Small Faces 2012

If the original master tapes of Ogden's have been scoured from Andrew Loog Oldham that is indeed great news to say the least... But I am worried sick that they'll master them to death. A nice un-futzed transfer and I'm in heaven.

 

I think that The Darlings Of Wapping Wharf Launderette - The Immediate Anthology is a great compilation and has great sound as well...

 

I received my copies of the three October 2011 reissues.
Nothing special. Save your money for the box.

Let's hope the rumoured existence of Ogdens-era covers of 'Be My Baby' and 'Love is Here and Now You're Gone' proves true, and that they'll make their appearance on the box.

 

Very much looking forward to that box! Hope it's of the high quality that the Small Faces deserve.

No track listing either...

How does it tie in with the rumoured boxed set? is that one off now, has it bitten the dust?

On a Small Faces forum, they claim that the releases will be 3cd sets. Makes the pricing a bit more reasonable if that is the case. I appreciate Amazon states they are 2cds, but I really hope they are wrong.

 

Other mail order businesses have them as 2cd sets too...

 

The Amazon Pre-order promise should mean order now and bask in the savings later

 

That's what I usually do. But someting is telling me wait for track listings.

I won't blink to buy these, but how many LP & CD copies do I own already?

I still wonder if this is what McLagan and Kenny Jones were reportedly working on, or whether there will ALSO be a boxed set full of goodies... If these editions are 3 cds each, I wouldn't think there would be much left over for any boxed set, no?

I only hope the survivors and Marriott and Ronnie Lanie's families get to reap the benefits this time, at last!!!

Looks like they should make all the old versions irrelevant... if the mastering is okay (I don't hold much hope if Rob Caiger is involved. I wish he would stop releasing fake stereo stuff on reissues!)
