    Yes, please do.

The remaster sounds too digital, how so?

I did some A/Bing with 3 of the 5 songs common to "Living In The Past" U.S. Chrysalis & MoFi, and DCC "Original Masters" (Didn't touch the "Aqualung" tunes). I also used the single disc "20 Years Of Jethro Tull" for a couple, but those were easily at the bottom ("Nursie" on the U.S Chrysalis "LITP" is still best).

Here is what I like YMMV:

    Life Is A Long Song
    1 - "Original Masters" - DCC
    2 - "Living In The Past" - U.S. Chrysalis
3 - "Living In The Past" - MoFI

    Witches Promise
1 - "Living In The Past" - MoFI
    2 - "Original Masters" - DCC
    3 - "Living In The Past" - U.S. Chrysalis

Living In The Past (first two are a tie and best for different reasongs)
1 - "Living In The Past" - U.S Chrysalis (best sounding vocal - my #1 choice)
1 - "Original Masters - DCC (for instruments)
3 - "Living In The Past" - MoFI

For the last song of the EP, "For Later," it is the U.S. Chrysalis over the MoFi.

After around 6 months of hunting,I've got today WG Aqualung 610016.I've made listening comparison with CCD1044 ,and found 610016 much better than CCD1044 in all ways. Both cd's was made from different tapes,on CCD1044 is possible to hear light tape jam from start (I made comparison using my headphone amp).

    What is your matrix info?

Does it say "MANUFACTURED BY SANYO JAPAN" in the matrix?

O.k., I also had this disc in the past. It is very good in my opinion. Still, when I compared it to the same looking disc (but with "MANUFACTURED BY SANYO JAPAN" in the matrix), I preferred the Japan pressing.

Have you heard the DCC gold CD of Aqualung also? What are your thoughts when compared with the disc you have now?

O.k., long overdue, but finally here there are a couple of sample clips from the German Chrysalis 252 656 of "This Was":

    1) Beggar's Farm

    Roland,

You used the word lively (that's how I hear it too) to describe the remaster's sound, I believe.
I'm surprised how lively the German CD sound is, too.

    Thank you for this listen.

I received my CDP 32.. it's a UK Mastered By Nimbus pressing. Great call on this one! I really like the sound of this CD.

Also, another great call with the War Child US Chrysalis F2 21067 DIDX 1426.
I really like the sound of this one also. I A/B'd it to my green label Chrysalis LP and the cd fared well.

    Thanks for the input.

Wow, that German Chrysalis sounds fine! Evidently not as punchy as the remaster, and the voice is just a tad muddy, but it somewhat sounds more natural or relaxed.
Upon comparing, the remaster really isn't bad (although it sounds suspiciously noiceless). It's a matter of personal taste between the two.

Just borrowed my friend's US Chrysalis CD again and compared it to my German Chrysalis CD.

I find the German Chrysalis much better, and that is now my preferred versions, since it sounds the most natural and analogue to me.

Roland, I heard the MFSL Warchild and will recommend that one to you (if you don't already have it). Comparing to my US orig Chrysalis, the MFSL is IMO a better transfer (clarity) with better tone (the orig sounds a bit trebly in direct comparison).

The MFSL is amazing. Easily the best Warchild CD available.
