He did as many stadiums as he wanted in 88/94. Which he could theorhetically repeat if he wanted.

Broadway got hit hard by the economy since it's driven by disposable money.

Looks like there is another pre-order ticket option...if you buy The Wall (the movie) from iTunes by April 26th you get a code to buy tickets between May 6th and 9th...not sure how this aligns with other pre-order options though.

It was his choice to do smaller venues on the On An Island tour, I believe. Trust me, he doesn't need the money.

:righton: Dave seems to be doing exactly what he wants to be doing these days.

Dave could have probably made record amounts of money to reunite with the others before Rick's death.

from "outside the wall" a pink floyd fan site:

    for whatever its worth:

    The Band:
    Graham Broad - drums
    Snowy White - guitar
    Dave Kilminster-guitar
    Jon Carin - Keyboards
    Mark-Venice - vocals
    Kipp-Venice - vocals
    Michael Lennon - vocals
    Ian Ritchie - sax

Roger has said a few other musicians
    are a possibility, stay tuned!

(** my note** It sounds like Mason will be on a few dates)

The appearance will be a state-of-the art affair, featuring a 240-foot-wide X35-foot-tall Wall
"a state-of-the-art 3600 quadraphonic sound system immersing the
audience in a 3-dimensional hyperworld" hahaha.

Album illustrator Gerald Scarfe, who worked on the tour and 1982 film, is
providing new art and redesigning puppets and inflatable objects.

Thanks, not too excited about lip-synching :sigh: but still will probably go, if I can figure out how to get tickets other than from brokers. Wish he was performing "The Final Cut".

He has done sections of "The Final Cut" in previous tours.

  13. Really looking forward to this!

I imagine that a few shows will be filmed for a DVD release...just hope that doesn't act as a barrier to a DVD from the original tour to ever get out...

Also, this should be a blu-ray extravaganza. The 35mm filmed portions of the original Wall shows could be on blu-ray too, although the videotaped shows, of course, would be limited in resolution. Anyways, I'm excited. :goodie:

  16. Roger said in a recent interview (I forget if it was the special "WALL" related CLASSIC ROCK or MOJO but it was one of them) he was recently viewing footage from the original 80-81 "WALL" tour.

Of course many fans including myself took this as meaning he was preparing a DVD release.

Now with the annoucment of a 2010 "WALL" tour, I wonder if he was just studying the footage to prepare for the upcoming live show.

Which is a HUGE disappointment for me! :thumbsdn:

I mean I am excited about seeing the show live but really think (and have for many years) that the original "WALL" tour has to be preserved on DVD.

Am I too greedy in wanting both an archival release and a show from the new upcoming tour?

    Probably!

I only discovered "The Final Cut" recently (I did know a few of the tracks) and find that, overall, it's a more satisfying listen than "The Wall". An underrated masterpiece, IMO.

Waters played a great version of The Gunner's Dream on his '84 tour with Clapton on guitar. Clapton plays an guitar solo to end the song.

He's also played Get Your Filthy Hands Off My Desert, South Hampton Dock, and Not Now John on various tours.

I would LOVE it if he were to promote its release on Blu-Ray with a brief theatrical release in select theaters. That would be awesome.

considering the price of tickets for this tour, an HD Blu-ray release of a show will suit me just fine....

I guess Robbie Wyckoff is singing Gilmour's parts? Kind of interesting because I think Dave Kilminster & Jon Carin sang some of them in the past. Also surprised to see G.E. Smith in there. I have a feeling this is going to sound really good. I know Waters sang to his own backing track on some tunes like "Have A Cigar" on his last tour. I wonder if he will need to on this one.

I saw this as well (2 of the shows). Absolutely great. I'm going to try to get tickets for this Waters show as well. One of the friends I saw both of the 1980 shows with is going with me to this one too. Should be very cool.
