  1. This is beyond sad. Boston and Brad have been a part of my life since I was 15 years old (I'm 46 now). I'm very happy now that I went to see Boston in concert back in 1998.

Man, I haven't shed a tear for the death of a musician in a long time.

Rest In Peace Brad. As the song says "There was something about you, yeah there was something about you". :shake:

Whereabouts is Atkinson, Kevin? Is that near Manchester? I live in the Lake Sunapee region.

What did you think of RTZ (Return To Zero)? That was the album Brad did with former Boston bandmates (minus Tom, of course). While it wasn't an incredible record, I thought it had some good moments.

Very sad news. What is often overlooked is how great his layered harmonies are on the classic Boston records. I also enjoy his work on the RTZ album with Barry Goudreau. RIP.

Great voice and too bad Tom Scholz did not give him more opportunities to use it.

    RIP Brad

Damn, at 55 that's far to young to go.

Delp's contributions to the "Boston sound" was huge.

And he will sadly be missed.

I just found out that Brad Delp lived about 100 yards away from me. My wife called me this afternoon to tell me that there were 4 or 5 police cars in front of one of our neighbor's house. I just verified that they were there for Brad Delp.

This is freaky. I wish I had known he lived there. I would have loved to have chatted with him. What a bummer.

Wow. That's waaayyy too young. He was truely one of the greatest singers in rock. Just amazing. I'm really shocked. I'm glad I got to see him sing with Boston in '86 on the Third Stage tour.

I never liked Boston, but it's sad to hear this news.

All the best wishes to his family.

I'm shocked and saddened. Delp was a great singer and was amazingly skilled at layered, overdubbed harmonies. Spot-on and always soulful, too. A one-man choir.

Brad, thanks for making some beautiful music. Your voice will be sorely missed.

Boston's official web site has been taken down, and replaced with a black page with only the words: "We've just lost the nicest guy in rock and roll."
