There are a couple of them: Black Sabbath S-T Creative Sounds 6006, Wings Wild Life Fame EMI... I suspect the Sonopress 01 XTC Oranges & Lemons too... I'm sure there are others.
And I am obliged to say that it's all subjective judgement, but in this case I'm pretty confident. Have a listen and let me know what you think!

A new one: The Empire Strikes Back - the re-recording by The National Philarmonic Orchestra conducted by Charles Gerhardt - Varèse Sarabande VSD-5353 Matrix: CVS 34.5353 P+O-12528-A1 05-92 "Made in Germany" on disc. Pre-Emphasis recognized by EAC.
I can't find any info, can anyone confirm either way if the 25DP-5247 Japanese pressing of Springsteen's Born in the U.S.A. has pre-emphasis or not? I ripped it and it sounds bright to me, but it was not flagged as PE. I can de-emphasize if needed, but maybe the album's supposed to be this bright? The only copy I owned before was an old pre-recorded cassette, makes comparisons difficult.
Dismayed by the existance of this mastering gimmick, today I began to check my collection for emphasis flags with EAC V1.0b3. Because someone stated in very early posts about Denon label having emphasis in all their catalog, I can confirm discs 2 through 5 of the Brilliant Classics label "Helene Grimaud - The Piano Collection" are Denon reissued recordings and trigger positive. Disc number 1 doesn't trigger a positive, but it does sound marginally louder and fuller in CD player versus flac file playback through the same CD player machine, indicative of de-emphasis application since orchestral music and pianos register mainly below the 3KHz +3dB which starts being noticeable. As I understand, the curve reaches +6dB at 7KHz, which is instantly heard as way too much treble. CD1: Helene Grimaud, R.P.O., Lopez-Cobos - Rachmaninoff: Piano Concerto no.2, Ravel: Piano Concerto in G Major (negative PE in EAC) CD2: Helene Grimaud - Rachmaninoff: Piano Sonata no.2, Etudes-tableaux op.33 (positive PE in EAC) CD3: Helene Grimaud - Chopin: Ballade no.1, Liszt: Apres une lecture de Dante, Schumann: Piano Sonata no.1 (positive PE in EAC) CD4: Helene Grimaud - Schumann: Kreisleriana, Brahms: Piano Sonata no.2 (positive PE in EAC) CD5: Helene Grimaud - Brahms: Piano Sonata no.3, 6 Klavierstuecke op.118 (positive PE in EAC)
Paul McCartney - Tug of War - CDP 4 46057 2 (Black Face made in Japan) Why is this listed on pre-emphasis list? I thought that in Japan made black face is PE negative. Are there any more variations for this black face then? I know that CP35 black triangle pressing definitely does have PE (in sub channel like all CP35 discs only detectable with EAC 0.95 pb3) and contains a unique mastering according the forum post here.
Hello! 1. Pet shop boys "Please" CDP 7 46271 2 NIMBUS ENGLAND 2. Hound Dog "Dreamer" 35DH 98 Japan MAtrix - 35DH 98 11A1
Most likely. I don't actually have this cd but anything from 35DP series has 90% chance of being PE positive. If you have original cd run it through EAC 0.95 pb3. It's working like a charm with checking in sub channel. (tested it on CP35-3001 Tug of War cd) Let us know the results.
Based on the evidence in other threads and my own good experience burning with flags set, signs point to Black Sabbath Paranoid, Creative Sounds 6007-2, having pre-emphasis.

Andreas Vollenweider - Behind the Gardens... Both the 'Japan 4 Europe' (Matrix DIDP-10054 31A9 ++++) and the 'Made in Austria' (Matrix CDCBS-85545 12 A4) disks have PE. At least indexing is different on both disks (8 tracks vs 9 tracks).
In case anyone is interested, I have had pretty decent luck working today on my computer with WaveEmph. The nice thing about WaveEmph is that it will De-Emphasize and allow you to adjust volume at the same time. Questions: On CD players, is there any adjustment to put back some of the volume drop when the top end is reduced? Should I be increasing the volume with WaveEmph when I do the De-Emphasis processing? On 3 of the 4 CD's that I De-Emphasized today, I did not increase the volume but I did on one as it seemed like it was taking a bigger hit on the volume when doing the processing.
Well you must perform some commands for checking in subcode with this eac version: (loading cd is not enough as it still looking only in toc) Action-TOC Alterations-Detect TOC Manually and wait for the result in Pre-Emphasis column Yes/No.
Is it a gimmick though? The Meridian 518 processor manual claimed that properly implemented pre-emphasis/de-emphasis could actually result in better dynamic range from a DAC if it used analog de-emphasis. It's kinda complicated though, you have to read the manual http://www.meridian-audio.com/download/Handbooks/500_Series/518user.pdf
