Bigger soundstage, better imaging, by far. Next to some room treatments (especially the bass traps), getting the racks of gear out from inbetween my speakers was a huge improvement. Because the panels have sound coming out the back, they no longer have the gear to interfere with things.

Not always practical, but works well if you have the space.

Is your room painted black (?) or are your walls treated in another way?

I'd love to put the equipment on the side but I'd have to dump about 2000 records from the otherside of the room. Fat Chance of that.

Haha. Stones fan are you? :D

It's black felt. Seems to work well with the Maggies.

I like your rug, btw. Where'd you get it--I have been looking for something similar.

New pics are on the way from me as I have a new rack and some new equipment . . . I'll post sometime after the holidays . . .

It was in Target, one of their home designs. I really like it since it is modern and the rest of my house is traditional or Pottery Barn/Restoration Hardware decor.

  19. Something I can afford! :righton:

Here is my very modest system, compared to some. I have owned this kit for around 8 years now with no problems. Speakers were bought about 4 years ago.Still sounds very sweet!

Linn LP12 (Akito arm. Asaka Cart)
    Naim 3.5 CD player
    Naim Nac72 pre-amp
    Naim NAP140 power amp
    Naim Flatcap.
    B&W Nautilus 805 speakers

AA nice looking and very decent organized Set-Up yu got there . All parts are great-from that Linn to tthe Mono Blocks and esp. the B+W speakers ! Just seemes you could place them better - check Barry Diaments Tips on how to get best Stereo Panorama.

i placed my T+A speakers http://www.taelektroakustik.de/eng/index.htm accordingly in my Living Room to good results.
There i run my old 1975 DUAL CS 701 DD with an Ortophone Broadcast E cartridge (Came back then with a SHURE V15 Type III) to a YAMAHA Receiver (also connected to my Mac + PC). Sound is fine for such an old + modest Rig.
    Mainl Music Room :
I run 2 Technics 1210's w/ Stanton Trackmasters R+S II (and HP 890 Headsheels) thru a Pioneer Mixer DJM 400 with 24 Bit T/ 96 Khz Technic Pre-Amp in the Music Room. That's for Dance Music mainly, but Rock and Reggae also sound pretty natural on that 220 Watts Active 2:1 PA/near fields. They look tiny but sound large..Lol.

I'm a college dorm dweller, so space is very limited. My next upgrade is speakers. I really need to start the auditioning process; I have a feeling it will take me a while to decide what I like best.
