Nice upgrade and I love that cabinet of yours so much! And keeping the bride pleased always a good thing!
Thanks Jon .... a 50th B-day present for me - built by a very dear friend - walnut It's a very simple system .... for this space gives us everything we need. Indeed.....her happiness is worth whatever effort I put in
Compared to most of the beefy combos on display here, my stacked system #1 seems positively miniature. Hardwood radio cabinet from the '30s provides a solid, level base for the Jenga stack. Adjustable, shot-filled stilts on the original foot pads level and stabilize Yamaha TT. Eventually, the TT should be on a shelf and accessed via the hinged top. One day. Judging by the number of “extra” hole bores in the front fascia, this unit housed a few tuners / brackets over its years.
System consists of: Talon Audio Firebird’s , Musical Fidelity NuVista M3, Integraded, Factory Upgraded , Dac Zidoo Neo S, Streamer NUC, Computer JTR-S1, Subwoofer Graham Slee Acession, Phono Stage Graham Slee Elevator, SUT Teres, Turntable with led lined solid zebra wood plinth and acrylic platter , Audiomods Series 6 tonearm silver loom cable, KLE bullet RCA's and AirTight PC-3 cart. ARXA, Marc Morin Fully modded, solid Lacewood plinth, sapphire bearings and ZYX 4D cart. Custom Tice Power Block, Line Conditioner Wireworld Eclipse 7, Speaker cables. VH Audio Silver Spectrum, Interconnects. P.I. Audio power cables, 20a for integrated 15a for Dac and the rest of my components. Revelation Audio Cryo Silver Umbilical’s Synergistic Research MIG 3.0 footers GIK Acoustic panels and Bass traps
I am almost ashamed of my humble setup. Some of these are true works of art. They are great looking, sounding, and laid out in grandiose scientific precision to their maximum potential.
Yes I am a prominent bass player in a band which has enjoyed mild commercial success.LOL not serious! No seriously Maybe that post came off too wrong.I am in fact delighted with what I hear.
Well maybe I should rephrase my post.It is not even so much what I am lacking.I just think you guys really all take this hobby into the stratosphere! That is a very good thing for the future! Many of us would never climb the ladder if we didn’t see and hear what is possible. I demoed and upgraded based upon recommendations from you more experienced listeners. There was no looking back ever,I have enjoyed every step of the journey.
New DIY audio rack (60" x 18" x 40") I built over the weekend so I could retire my old MDF veneer console. Butcher block is now solid and makes leveling the turntable a breeze. Still have to enhance my wire hiding ninja skills but the majority of the work is over. Thankfully!
The rack you did looks really nice. Did you get multiple butcher blocks and glue them together? Or is that one piece?
Ah ok, that’s good to know I’ll have to look into it. I’m trying to go from my low boy rack to a higher standing rack for my tables because it’s getting harder to to get down and cue up records.
