They hold up very well. They are on a concrete floor, have been attached to the wall and have back pannels. They stand rock solid this way.

It's taken me a year to assemble all the gear and, with the help of my nephew (the audio engineer), we got it all put together nice and neat this weekend. I love it!

Nice looking system! I am a fan of the EV 12TRXB too.

Is that picture above the turntable of the Boeing 707 "Dash 80" prototype? :righton:

Awesome. I can appreciate that it took years to assemble. While you might experiment further as the years go by I don't think you'll ever get a better all around system than the McIntosh and B&Ws. I would just stay put. :righton:

Yeah, that is all well and good when one pair of speakers occupies floor space in one room of one's house.

But when five large pairs of speakers suck up space in five separate rooms, the whole idea of "integrating a system with your home" is kinda of like locking the stable door after the horse has bolted.

Acoustically treating one's room makes one an audiophile but owning five pairs of speakers, multiple amplifiers and turntables does not?

And how is that? Is she against acoustic room treatment aesthetically but not seeing large pairs of speakers in multiple rooms throughout the house?

I owned them all and had the same opinion. That all changed when I opened my mind and listened closely and found out I got very similiar if not better sound with equipment at half the price. I had them all and much more and it was shocking to me also. Take care, Nice system, John M.:nauga::goodie:

Room treatments are a good idea but not necessary depending on one's priorities....Many people have kick *** gear and no room treatments...Also, having many systems does not make anyone an audiophile. Just makes listening around the house more interesting and enjoyable. You can have a lot of gear and still not feel like using acoustic treatments...Its allright.

Very nice! Love that Nagra recorder and also how you have a stand for each component.

The room really makes the biggest difference. Having heard more than my share of excellent rooms, I don't care how good your gear is, spending some time and a few bucks on proper room treatments will really make it sing. There isn't any gear made out there that is immune to room treatments.

I agree with that 100%...but one doesn't live through logic only....Its up to the individual if he/she wants to squeeze up the performance by room treating...
