Yeah I am currently using that. Although the Threshold it is sitting on is pretty sweet too. I have been thinking about sending it off for some work though, but I haven't convinced myself it needs it.

The turntable is a Clearaudio Champion II with a SME 309 arm and Benz Micro Glider. The aluminum Wardsweb badge was CNC machined by a friend of mine.

Thanks, the acoustic signature final tool is maybe my personal best buy in audio. I picked it up like 10 years ago when they sold them through needle doctor for a bit, and it basically took me off the upgrade merry go round for turntables (not necessarily for amrs and carts and etc. tho). It's rock solid and not fussy, one of the benefits of high mass designs I think

In late 2010 we moved to our current house. The attached office/practice became my dedicated music room and storage. The stereo rig and most records are in the large room. The rest of the records and the cd's are in the second room. A third room (not pictured) is my work place.

Hey, nice to see a pic of this receiver. I owned this model for awhile back in the '80's until I sold it off to help fund a deal a friend offered me that I couldn't refuse on the Pioneer SPEC-1 & 2 Preamp and amp separates.
I remember the model 3900 being a decent receiver but IMHO I still prefer the earlier '70's SX line of receivers.

Just took a few system pics this past w/e. I've been happy with this setup for quite some time now:

Are those vinyl shelves all Ikea Expedit 4x4's with 2x4's on top of them?
If so, how do you find the stability/strength?
Have you done anything to reinforce them?

    Nice collection, btw.
Mine fills a 5x5 and a 1x5 next to it and my friends think I'm crazy, but yours is something else. I'm going to show them your pictures next time they come round to get them off my back!

I was wondering as well about stacking a 2x4 on top of a 4x4.

    I have a 5x5, plus a 2x4 and two 1x5, with about 5 cubes left to fill. That's about 2800 LPs.

It could even be far more LP's and '45's when you would have purchased my old collection. Pity you didn't show up...

I've got the 5x5 full, an LPbin.com home-made job that holds about 500, and about 14 plastic crates full of LPs yet to be shelved. I'm headed to Ikea this week to buy another 4x4 so if my math is right that will leave me only 2 spaces empty to fill, which will probably happen by the end of the year or right after the Austin Record Convention. At that point I can't expand anymore, my sole room dedicated to vinyl will be full. I see myself looking for a bigger house...soon!
