When I was in college, I stored my vinyls on the same shelf as my rubber.

This was a simple genius idea. I have to get one of these. Also, pressed on high quality American Apparrel t-shirts (as cheesy as some of their stuff is they actually do make a great t-shirt).

    I usually say:

Vinyl when referring to the format (as in "I have/want that on vinyl")
Records when referring to my collection. ("I have a lot of records")
LP when searching for/buying a certain item online (as in "Beatles Revolver LP")

My dad uses all of these as well as "I have that on album".

It is weird that so many terms are used to refer to one thing, and yet when someone tries to come up with a universal word 'vinyls' it sounds ridiculous and amateurish.

These shirts are good but I would like one in white, blue, or red. I find other colors don't suit me.

We always called them "records" when we were kids. Never called them vinyl(s).

3X and 4X would be nice as well, but then again, not all vinyl lovers are also Santa...

The plural of rubber is rubber, but regardless, I only needed one, which is technically an overstatement.

According to the link in a previous post provided for this very subject, rubber can be considered both a "count" and "noncount" noun. Therefore, for your, um, application, the plural is indeed "rubbers."

I was asking about the shelf - I was surprised you only need one shelf for all of your vinyls. But thanks for the information anyway

From you avatar it appears you support a clothing optional philosophy, so your statement is taken in even higher regard. :righton:
