Thanks, you might want to try the no TO/no CDP catalog # CBS/Sony matrix pressing.

On my set-up it just sounds more believable being very relaxed, balanced and open sounding with great detailed staging/imaging. The 2 TO matrix CDs I compared sounded a little pinched and less natural.

I'm going to try to tip-toe through this without ruffling any feathers.

The Black Triangle CD you bought contains the same digital data as the one without the "TO" in the matrix. What's more, the Japanese black-faced Harvest is also identical to the previous two discs.

Some people claim to hear differences in identical digital material. That's fine with me. This seems to me to be some sort of "left over" from the analog vinyl age where different pressings can, in fact, sound different. My personal opinion is that identical digital data is just that. I suggest everyone try this out individually for themselves and come to their own conclusions.

You're very welcome. Enjoy the early Japanese Meddle. It's my personal favorite version as well. :)

My Black Triangle Disc CP32-5032 Japan arrived today from Japan , the cd arrived so fast , in 3 days! maybe he was sent with spaceship??
I like the sound of the cd, the sound soft as velvet , I also like my other 2 cds editions - Holland 1984 and the uk 1994, so now I have 3 copies of the same title and I really hope I will not feel the need to get another edition of this masterpiece

Here's an odd ball that I just found in the used rack.

    Meddle.JPG

No bar code on the back with all of the inserts and the CD mfg in Japan. The CD is a black faced Harvest with matrix CDP 7-46034 2 4A1 CP32-5032. So that corresponds to the first UK issue but the stickers on the case are what's strange. At first I thought that both stickers were something that a collector added at some point and that may be the case but the yellow one is printed and not typed. Which wouldn't seem to be something a collector or used store would do.

Has anyone seen something like this on a non-MFSL CD? Would MFSL have sent copies of a "normal" CD along with their version to reviewers or audio store for compairison? I'm probably reading too much into it but it just seemed strange.
