I would hope that the template set for the Beatles remasters indicates that the studio albums part of these sets will contain new remasters. For something of this kind of box set, you would have to assume that EMI went back and did this. For the moment, I'm hard-pressed to believe they would throw all of this unreleased material in these boxes and then just throw in the old latest remasters to round out the packages.

My guess is that, given the royal treatment for these 3 albums, he might feel that Piper got short-shrifted with the 2007 3-disc set (not that it wasn't fantastic on his own), but I sure bet ChrisM could put together a 5/6-disc Immersion set for Piper at the drop of a hat.

Remember the 2003 DSOTM hybrid SACD, the CD section of the disc was compressed. And things hasn't actualy got any better in the record business since then.

I'm having a great chuckle right now. It's late and I keep checking how many users are looking at this thread. I see the list keeps growing the later we go on into the night. Boy, Chris must be a heavy sleeper.:D

I notice that no one have mentioned the possibility for the original The Wall footage in that Immerse set. That would make sense, right? Waters have mentioned that film several times lately and it would be kind of strange if all we get is the "Is there anybody out there?" set all over again plus some demoes, right?

What's up with the 1-disc "best of" though? Pretty tough to make that work, given the length of Floyd tracks... A Collection Of Great Dance Songs, anyone?

  8. What if the same team behind the Beatles remasters worked on this. Because those remasters had a lot of praise.... That would be great:righton:

It seems EMI/Capitol did a better job than Universal (Queen).

perhaps the WYWH immersion set is where the 5.1 mix ends up.

it'll probably cost 1,000 in local currency by the time it lands here in Malaysia

er, why does the cover say "this is not a box"? (ceci n'est pas une boite)

On the Neptune PF forum someone mentioned that The Wall has 7 discs! I could not get his amazon link to work but it makes sense since it's a double album.

Seems like a lot of long lost treasures will appear in these sets: 70's live recordings, surround versions of WYWH and The Wall and the original film from The Wall shows.

I wouldn`t mind if they reissued an expanded Works cd.I thought that one flowed pretty good out of all the comps.

They have put a pretty complete list with links here:

    http://www.pinkfloydz.com/

I like the new covers. Pretty much original but it seems that they (Storm & Co ?) have taken care of the picture quality. Notice Animals and A Momentary Lapse Of Reason.

So, the next question is, is the 96kHz/24-bit audio from the DSD masters? I would say yes.
