Some key bits of info from the article I posted back in part 2:

It is likely Piper & Saucerful will get the Immersion treatment (probably combined into one Immersion set), including Scream Thy Last Scream and Vegetable Man. Mason says this would likely be released summer 2012.

It is unlikely any other albums will get the Immersion treatment, due to lack of material and/or demand.

It is possible Animals may receive the Experience edition treatment. All the shows of the In The Flesh tour were recorded, & Waters would like to remix the album.

"Nothing of particular interest" exists to be added for any expanded editions of Ummagumma, Atom Heart Mother or Meddle.

A Momentary Lapse of Reason & The Division Bell will likely be released as Experience editions.

    Re A remix of Animals:

"Mason is hopeful something can be done with it, but adds: "Roger is so shattered from touring at the moment that I doubt he'll want to carry out any exercises on Animals just yet. I think he's getting a bit too old for all of this".

Yes, but I would like to see how the discs are stored in the digipaks/gatefolds.

Are they having a laugh, have you thought about writing to Mr Nick Mason and reminding him what is out there, perhaps include a picture of a vintage sports car to get his interest:laugh:

I've never really understood why Atom Heart Mother isn't rated highly by a lot of people, including the band. I love it. Ummagumma I can understand, though.

I Agree, I love the Peel BBC live Atom Heart Mother Suite, its my to go version, The Studio Ummagumma has it moments, Gilmour and Waters bits are good, the others not so good IMO, the live Ummagumma should have had the excellent Interstella Overdrive as well, but I guess time on the Vinyl format was a factor so it needs an update IMO

The booklet is in one side, the disk in the other, with no paper or plastic envelope.

The real question is whether the logo is a sticker on the plastic wrap or if it is part of the artwork....

    jl,
Thanks for the updated posting. It helps me to map out further buying strategy as I've only invested in the Immersion sets for Dark Side of the Moon and Wish You Were Here so far.

Yea I don't see the point in getting brand new remasters in a lossy format, especially when a lot of the immersion set is bas off of 24bit 96k versions

I canceled my pre-order of the Dark Side immersion box... It's a lot of dough to get scratched discs...

It is, but as long as they play, that's the main thing.

If not, send it back & get a replacement.

Must say if it hasen`t been for that "poor" 4 cd holders at the bottom of the Dark Side Immersion box this would be Perfect. The box itself is well made, and all the extra stuff is really cool.
Also love the music on it specially Audio Disc 3 which has a lot of amazing stuff on it.

I know, but even if the discs played fine, it's the principle of the thing...
If the customer keeps happily paying for increasingly lower quality, they'll never feel compelled to get it right... Or are we going to make it acceptable to pay "new" price for scratched discs, so long as they play?

In the case of this box, a collector's item that retails for around €100 new, it is only fair to expect the product to be in perfect condition... Do I really have to pay that much and then take time out of my day to go and queue up at the post office hoping that I might get lucky next time around? No, thanks... I'd much rather wait for a price that makes it worth my while, or pass on it altogether...

Useless marbles and coasters get their own pouches and containers, but there's not a sorry paper sleeve to protect four out of six discs, which ARE the main thing... It's a joke, and I don't like feeling like it's on me, not when I'm paying...

Exactly. Better to wait until you can buy it used and verify that the discs aren't scratched or at least play properly.

Sad that the "fluff and nonsense" marketing pukes could hold sway over what the band really stood for.

  17. I canceled my order for the DSOTM Immersion box. I am not paying over $100 for scratched CDs, when it becomes a huge hassle to exchange box after box to get all the discs in mint condition. Congratulations, box set designer.

From Pink Floyd's Twitter account: "This Monday to mark the first set of releases, the Floyd pig will fly again above London's Battersea Power Station"

    As we expected....

Well said. Sad, but you captured my sentiment well.

  21. I too am on the verge of cancelling. Between the high price and potential packaging issues...... :shake:

I didn't jump on the first day Amazon price, so I don't think it would hurt me, price wise, if I decide later on to get them.

(but man, I really want these immersion sets :goodie:)

For what it's worth, I got my Dark Side Immersion box and all of the discs were still on their spindles...and took a bit of effort to get out. I agree, it's not the best way to package this and I also would have preferred jewel cases, but I don't think it's as dire of a situation as many are thinking it is.

The Dark Side Immersion box is on the shelves here in australia today, just brought my copy home - Disc 1 was loose in the box but no scratches or marks, fortunately
