This wasn't just a stroll. The photo was taken during a benefit appearance with Harry Nilsson (who is also in the above photo, all the way at the right, about 6 people over from John). I think the benefit was some "Cousin Brucie/WCBS radio" thing in 1974 for (maybe?) Muscular Dystrophy. John only talked; no singing was done.

    Thanks for correcting the facts.

And even though this was during John's "Lost Weekend", he definitely was out and about and doing lots of music with various musicians. I think this was one of John's happiest periods, even if him and Harry may have drank a lot at times.

Of course it was John's happiest period--he wasn't with Yoko!!!--Seriously,in that 18-month he managed get work on four albums. Not too bad for a guy who was 'totally wasted' the whole time...---I think everybody should read May Pang's book "Loving John" for what it was REALLY like...

It also was the period when John was very totally pro-Beatles. In every interview and radio chat that he gave in that period, he was always very proud of the Beatles and was definitely happy with the band's legacy and their continuing friendship. Arnie

Since we saw Janis's passport....how about a country legend in the same context? Here's Skeeter Davis's PP:

A co-worker had these pics of the Stones, Ike and Tina Turner and let me scan them. I have absolutely no background info but thought they were cool.
