Original CD Pressings to Avoid

    Unless there's another issue of Layla I haven't heard, the old 2 CD set sounds pretty good. Very similar to the MFSL.

    IIRC, Disraeli Gears isn't the greatest, but Wheels of Fire sounds pretty nice, arguably better than the US Dennis Drake version.

    To clarify, I'm not saying the RSO pressings are necessarily the best or even great, but they certainly aren't all terrible either.

    The DCC. With the CSG removed/reversed (by me) on the applicable tracks.

    How about the ELO originals?... The Greatest Hits I own has sub-par sound, but can't attest to the others.

    The remasters that I've listened to are at 10x clearer. That's the way I'd listen to them.

    You can't make blanket statements like that. Some of the originals sound excellent, i.e. the early Japanese pressings of the 1st and 2nd album and Discovery. No later versions can compare with those.
